Information processing device and method, to prevent hot insertion and extraction of SIM tray
09836624 · 2017-12-05 · ·

The present technique relates to an information processing device, an information processing method, a record medium and a program which can prevent hot insertion and extraction of an SIM card. A removing unit removes a tray storing a storage member. A removal detector detects an operation of starting removal of the tray before the removing unit removes the tray. A power controller stopping power supplying to the storage member when the removal detector detects the operation of starting the removal of the tray may be employed. The present technique may be applied, e.g., to a personal computer.

Credit Card Holder Assembly

A credit card holder assembly for inserting a credit card or debit card into a card reader includes a pair of arms that is each pivotally coupled together having each of the arms being oriented parallel to each other. Each of the arms is biased apart from each other for having a credit card inserted between the arms. Each of the arms is urgeable to engage each other to compress the credit card between the pair of arms. In this way the credit card can be inserted into and removed from a credit card reader without requiring a user to touch the credit card reader. A key ring is disposed on the pair of arms such that the key ring can be attached to a user's keys for carrying the pair of arms.

SMART CARD ENROLLMENT DEVICE

A connector that is configured to receive a smart card includes: a first contact configured to receive a power supply voltage and corresponding to a first (power supply) contact area of the smart card, a second contact configured to receive a reference voltage and corresponding to contact a second (reference voltage) contact area of the smart card, and a third contact corresponding to a three-state (input/output) contact area of the smart card. A first light-emitting diode having an anode coupled to the third contact and a cathode coupled to the second contact. A second light-emitting diode has a cathode coupled to the third contact and an anode coupled to the first contact. Turning on/off of the first and second light-emitting diode is controlled by the smart card through the signal at the three-state (input/output) contact area.

A card reader for a point-of-sale system that is configured to accept both magnetic strip-type and integrated circuit (IC) chip-type payment cards. The card reader is a component of a point-of-sale system including a portable computing device in communication with the card reader that is configured to present a first graphical user interface (GUI) when a magnetic stripe-type card is detected and a second GUI when an IC chip-type card is detected in the card reader. The card reader comprises a slot configured to receive the payment card, a magnetic reading device and an IC chip reading device. The card reader also includes a discriminator contact disposed within the slot that is configured to conduct across a surface of a metal pad of the IC chip-type card prior to the CI chip reading device making contact with the IC chip.

Unfoldable OLED reader/displays for the visually-impaired

A method for displaying information printed on a contactless smart card is provided. The method may include using a wireless chip to enable communication with the contactless smart card. The method may further include displaying the information on a plurality of panels. Each of the panels may include an array of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Each of the panels may be coupled to at least one other panel. The method may further include coordinating the transfer of the information from the contactless smart card to the wireless chip using a software chip. The software chip may include a non-transitory memory and a processor. The method may yet further include powering, either directly or indirectly, the plurality of panels, the software chip and the contactless smart card, said powering using a battery.
