ELECTRONIC CARD RECEIVING DEVICE AND METHOD OF USING ELECTRONIC CARD RECEIVING DEVICE

An electronic card receiving device, including a housing, a card stand, a rotating shaft, and a contact element, is provided. The housing includes a front plate having an opening. The card stand is disposed in an inner space of the housing and includes a plate section, a connecting section, and a hook section. The connecting section is connected between the plate section and the hook section. A terminal of the hook section protrudes toward the opening. The rotating shaft is attached to the plate section and is lower than the opening. An axis of the rotating shaft is substantially parallel to the front plate. The rotating shaft rotates to drive the card stand to oscillate between an initial configuration and a card-reading configuration. The contact element is disposed on the plate section of the card stand. A method of using an electronic card receiving device is also provided.

Recharging an embedded battery in a smart card

Devices and methods for recharging an embedded battery in a smart card, including a control method implemented by a smart card (CD1) including a rechargeable battery (8). The control method may include operations for processing a transaction (TR1) with a terminal (T); receiving during this transaction a predetermined transaction command requiring a processing time, by the smart card, long enough to allow a recharging of the battery to at least a first predetermined threshold charge level; and, upon detection (S32) of this transaction command, triggering the recharging of the battery (8) by using a power supply delivered by the terminal (T) to reach at least the first predetermined threshold charge level.

Circuit Board Enclosure and Method for Communications Applications

A data card enclosure method and system comprising data card connectors and host interface connectors on a data card housed in the data card enclosure. The data card enclosure method and system provided for connecting the data card connectors and host interface connectors to external communications ports.

Information bearing medium and information processing system

An information processing system includes an information bearing medium and an information reading unit. The information bearing medium has a two-dimensional array of unit data zones. Marks are provided on some of the unit data zones so as to form a digital code. Mark patterns of any two Y-directional adjacent unit data zone strings based on the arrangement of marks in an X-direction differ from each other. The information reading unit generates a data string on the basis of a unit signal formed from a plurality of signals output from a group of detection units that detect the marks in synchronization and recognizes the digital code of the information bearing medium on the basis of a group of the data strings sequentially obtained from the array of the unit data zones.

Physical interactive IDs (P2D)

Embodiments of the present invention may provide the capability to identify a specific object being interacted with that may be cheaply and easily included in mass-produced objects. In an embodiment, a computer-implemented method for object identification may comprise receiving a signal produced by a physical interaction with an object to be identified, the signal produced by an identification structure coupled to the object during physical interaction with the object, processing the signal to form digital data identifying the object, and accessing a database using the digital data to retrieve additional information identifying or describing properties of the object identified.
