LUMP SEQUENCES FOR MULTI-TRACK MAGNETIC STRIPE ELECTRONIC DATA TRANSMISSION
20180004985 · 2018-01-04 · ·

A system and method of validating electronic encoded information from magnetic stripe card data transmitted as electronic stripe data includes a lump transmission stream. The lump transmission stream is read by at least two track channel readers each of which recognizes and reads only data corresponding to data to be read from a respective magnetic stripe represented in the lump transmission stream, which has data read from two tracks of magnetic card stripes. One track channel reader reads the first portion of the lump stream and discards the second portion of the stream, the second track channel reader reads the second portion of the stream and discards the first portion of the stream.

The teleoperable medical system comprises a controller configured to receive output signals from the reader and determine identification information about the cannula based on the output signals.

Magnetic card reader with tunnel magnetoresistance sensor

A magnetic card reader comprising a groove for shifting of a magnetic card and a magnetic read head mounted on a first printed-circuit board so as to enable reading of a magnetic stripe of the magnetic card. The magnetic read head has a tunnel magnetoresistance sensor called a TMR magnetic sensor positioned in a recess of a side wall of the groove.

Point of sale system

A point-of-sale system is a dual-screen stand assembly that includes a merchant terminal and a consumer terminal. The merchant terminal and the consumer terminal can be mated together in a fixed position to form a single unitary stand, or can be separated from each other in a separated position with each terminal serving as its own separate stand. The merchant terminal supports a merchant computing device and is oriented in a merchant-facing direction. The consumer terminal is detachably mated to the merchant terminal and supports a consumer computing device that is oriented in a consumer-facing direction. The point-of-sale system also includes a card reader as part of the customer terminal to perform a payment. The card reader is configured to accepting swipe cards, chip cards or contactless (EMV or NFC) payments.

Tamper detection based on flexible member connecting circuitry elements
11665817 · 2023-05-30 · ·

A point of sale (POS) device includes tamper detection circuitry in which one or more flexible members that each include multiple side-by-side conductive traces connect two circuit boards, optionally so that one circuit board must remain very close to the other if the device remains in a secure un-tampered-with state. Severance of a trace of the flexible member, or disconnection of the flexible member from either circuit board, may result in unexpected voltage sensor readings indicative of a tamper attempt.

A reader device for reading information stored on a magnetic strip containing a plurality of polarized magnets, each providing a magnetic flux, said reader device including: a magnetoresistive sensor including a plurality of magnetoresistive elements and configured for reading the information stored on the magnetic strip and outputting a read signal; a processing module configured for decoding the read signal and extracting binary data; wherein the read signal includes amplitude information of the magnetic flux; and wherein the processing module is further configured for decoding the read signal using the amplitude information of the read signal is described. Further, an amplitude decoding method for decoding the read signal outputted by the reader device is described.

Methods and apparatus for conducting secure magnetic stripe card transactions with a proximity payment device

Methods and apparatus for enabling a proximity payment device to generate dynamic data for securely conducting a transaction by emulating a magnetic stripe payment card. In an embodiment, a mobile device processor transmits information to a digital enablement service computer to activate a simulated magnetic stripe payment wallet application stored in the mobile device. The mobile device then receives one or more cryptographic keys, generates an unpredictable number (UN), generates dynamic CVC3 data based on the UN, and then assembles emulated magnetic stripe data. During initiation of a purchase transaction, the mobile device processor transmits the emulated magnetic stripe data to a communications interface associated with a merchant device.

Magnetic stripe reader tamper protection
09852422 · 2017-12-26 · ·

A technique for tamper protection of incoming data signal to an electronic device is disclosed. An intentional interference signal is generated and modulated onto the incoming data signal as one composite input signal, to prevent unauthorized acquisition of valid data from the incoming data signal. The magnitude of the interference signal is adjusted to correspond to the magnitude of the incoming data signal, thereby preventing an attacker from properly differentiating the two different signals and/or decoding the valid data from the composite input signal. Once the composite input signal is safely received within the device, the interference signal can be filtered out in either analog mode or digital mode.

SAMPLING METHOD AND SAMPLING APPARATUS FOR ANTI-COUNTERFEITING INFORMATION ABOUT CASH NOTE

Disclosed are a sampling method for anti-counterfeiting information about a cash note, and a sampling apparatus for anti-counterfeiting information about a cash note, which executes the method. The sampling method for anti-counterfeiting information about a cash note comprises: through differences collected between sensors, utilizing a law of the differences to restore spatially coupled power-frequency of low-frequency electromagnetic interference signals acquired by an effective signal sensor (21); and then performing common-mode signal elimination on voltage waveform data corresponding to the anti-counterfeiting information, thereby thoroughly elimination the spatially coupled power-frequency or low-frequency electromagnetic interferences that magnetic signal sensors suffer from during the collection of magnetic anti-counterfeiting signals.

Cards and devices with magnetic emulators with zoning control and advanced interiors

A payment card (e.g., credit and/or debit card) is provided with a magnetic emulator operable to act as a magnetic stripe read-head detector and a data transmitter. A multiple layer flexible PCB may be fabricated to include multiple magnetic emulators. An emulator may include a coil that includes magnetic, ferromagnetic, or ferromagnetic, material in the coil's interior. Coils may be associated with zones. As a read-head is detected to move from zone-to-zone, coils may be activated to transmit information in those zones.
