A camera for detecting an object in a detection zone is provided that has an image sensor having a plurality of light reception elements for the generation of image data from received light from the detection zone), a reception optics having a focus adjustment unit for setting a focal position, with an angle of incidence of the received light on the image sensor changing on a change of the focal position, and a control and evaluation unit that is configured to set the focal position for a sharp recording of image data of the object, A sensitivity change of the capturing of the image data caused by the respective angle of incidence of the received light is compensated.

In accordance with some embodiments, a physical game element such as a wagering chip or a playing card may be utilized to implement a promotion scheme on an electronic card table (e.g., using RFID or optical imaging technology). During a game it may be determined whether the element is associated with special functionality (e.g., entitles the player to a payout multiplier, special payout table, bonus prize or other benefit). The special functionality may have been previously associated with the element or associated with the element during the game (e.g., dynamically and/or randomly). A modular sensor system for use with a faceplate mountable to a housing can include first and second optical modules. Each of the optical modules can be configured to be removably receivable within either of a first mounting aperture or a second mounting aperture of the faceplate, in either of a first orientation or a second orientation.

A method is provided for the automatic configuration of a plurality of cameras that each have an image sensor, an illumination, and a communication interface and that are installed such that they together record objects in a detection zone by partially overlapping, mutually complementary fields of view, wherein the cameras are connected via their communication interfaces to form a network. In this process, the cameras produce sample recordings while only specific cameras activate their illumination, a check is made for the respective cameras with reference to the sample recordings whether there is a proximity relationship to a camera having active illumination, and the relative arrangement of the cameras with respect to one another is determined from the proximity relationships.

A terminal includes an item scanner. The item scanner determines whether an item that passes within a field of view of the scanner during a transaction has a properly noted barcode recorded for the transaction. When the item fails to have a properly noted barcode an alert is raised in real time for assistance and/or investigation of the transaction.

An accounting device according to an embodiment includes an input device that receives an instruction to start a job. A first display device includes a first screen facing a first direction towards a person who operates the input device. A change machine includes a depositing port for receiving money and a dispensing port for dispensing money. A second display device includes a second screen facing a second direction different from the first direction and towards a person who deposits money into the depositing port or receives money from the dispensing port. When the instruction received by the input device is to start a predetermined job that is different from the accounting transaction and that includes depositing money into the change machine or dispensing money from the change machine, the processor causes information supporting execution of the predetermined job to be displayed on the second screen.

A vehicle body tracking system of a vehicle assembly line provided at a conveyor unit for transferring a vehicle body may include: a mounting frame to be installed at a power rail of the conveyor unit; a pair of rotating bodies installed at the mounting frame; a driven chain to be combined to the pair of rotating bodies and combined with a drive chain that travels along the power rail; and an encoder sensor installed at the mounting frame and connected to at least one rotating body of the rotating bodies.
