An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device includes a memory, a camera module, a communications module, and a processor that is configured to: receive, from the camera module, image data associated with a machine-readable optical label, the optical label encoding transaction details of a transfer of data to a recipient account, wherein the transaction details do not indicate an identity of the recipient account; receive a user input indicating authorization to initiate a transfer of data, via a protected resource, from an account associated with the user to the recipient account; and in response to receiving the user input, generate a request for initiating the transfer of data based on the transaction details, the request including an access token for use in authenticating the user on requests to access the protected resource.

A focus module for an optoelectronic sensor is provided that has a focus adjustable optics, a focus adjustment unit for varying a focal position of the optics, and a focus control to move the optics into a focal position corresponding to a distance value by means of the focus adjustment unit. The focus module here furthermore has a distance sensor for determining the distance value and the focus adjustment unit, the focus control, and the distance sensor are parts of the focus module.

A method for identifying an object or product for purchase includes scanning, by the user, an example object for a code or marking; reading the code or marking; communicating with a database to index the code or marking with information about the example object, wherein the information includes contact information or a contact link for a manufacturer or supplier of the example object; and receiving the information and providing the information to the user. A method for purchasing a product based on the information can include receiving an order for a product using the contact information or contact link for the manufacturer or supplier; receiving payment for the order; and delivering a portion of the payment to an entity that displayed the example object from which the code or marking was scanned.

A reduced size optical code identifier includes a transparent body having a flat bottom surface with a rounded or domed top surface that meets the bottom surface around the perimeter of the bottom surface. An optical code is provided in the body adjacent the bottom surface and is visible through the top surface. The top surface is configured to reduce reflection to facilitate optical recognition and decoding of the optical code. The body has a maximum length or diameter of about twelve millimeters or less. The identifier can be placed on an object or structure and then used to associate information with the optical code of the identifier so that the information can be retrieved using a computing device that can optically recognize the code and communicate with a remote server.

An aspect is to provide a scanning device, a system, and a method in which an available communication band is not used up even if a plurality of scanning devices are connected to one unit of dedicated hardware. According to one embodiment, a scanning device includes: a camera configured to pick up an image; a reduction unit configured to reduce a data volume of an image corresponding to a merchandise to be outputted to an image recognition device from the image picked up by the camera; and an output unit configured to output the image with the reduced data volume to the image recognition device.

An apparatus for providing perishable product freshness information is provided. The apparatus includes a portable device having an input device for receiving a product identifier associated with a perishable product, a sensor reader for receiving data from one or more sensors in proximity of the perishable product and the portable device, a display device to display information, and a control circuit. The control circuit is configured to: receive the product identifier associated with the perishable product, retrieve a list of one or more external sensors to detect, cause the sensor reader to scan for data from the one or more external sensors, receive detected sensor data from one or more sensors detected by the sensor reader, and cause the display device to display information associated with product freshness determined based on the stored sensor data and a sensor data history associated with the perishable product.

Systems and methods electronically provide information regarding digital rules related to a potential relationship instance. Users often wish to know which digital rules apply to a specified item before engaging in a relationship instance with a host entity regarding the item. The system and methods described herein allow a computing facility to identify an item and receive resource information related to the item and the digital rules applicable to the item.

In particular, a method performed by one or more devices is disclosed, the method comprising: obtaining a first intensity information item (210) representative of a spectral image (208) resulting from an soiling (202, 302) of a textile (200, 304); obtaining a second intensity information item (212, 214) representative of a spectral image (216) characteristic of at least one property of at least one part of the textile (200, 304); determining at least one treatment parameter, wherein the determination of the treatment parameter takes place dependent both on the composition of the soiling (202, 302) from the first intensity information item (210) and on the at least one property of at least the part of the textile (200, 304) from the second Intensity information item (212, 214); and outputting or triggering an outputting of the at least one treatment parameter.

In a method for charging an electric device by a service rendering system, a controller of the service rendering system receives an image captured by an image sensor and processes the image to identify a label in the image as corresponding to the electric device. The controller obtains a service point location encoded in the label, where the service point location includes a location relative to a location of the label. The controller obtains service information included in the label, where the service request includes a charging service, and the charging service includes a description of an electric charging input of the electric device. The controller calculates a label position of the label using the image of the label and calculates a service point position using the service point location and the label position, where the service point position includes the electric charging input.
