Modular vision systems and methods

A modular vision system that can include a housing with a faceplate and a first and second optical module mounted to the faceplate. Each of the first and second optical modules can include a mounting body, a rectangular image sensor, and an imaging lens that defines an optical axis and a field of view. The first optical module can be configured to be mounted to the faceplate in a first plurality of mounting orientations and the second optical module can be configured to be mounted to the faceplate in a second plurality of mounting orientations. The first and second optical modules can thus collectively provide a plurality of imaging configurations.

ELECTROSURGICAL RETURN ELECTRODE AND RFID SYSTEM
20170360505 · 2017-12-21 ·

An electrosurgical return electrode configured for operable association with a transponder detection unit. The return electrode includes a conductive element having an aperture array configured to allow passage of a magnetic, electric, or electromagnetic interrogation signal from the transponder detection unit through the conductive element and through the return electrode. The return electrode is positionable over a transponder detection unit such that the return electrode may be placed upon the transponder detection unit and a patient may be positioned upon the return electrode. The return electrode enables the detection of a transponder located on, within, and/or near the patient without the need for repositioning the patient relative to the return electrode and without the need for positioning an ancillary transponder reader or transmitter above the patient.

Machine vision devices with configurable illumination and aiming pattern generation are disclosed. An example system includes a housing having a cavity; an imaging sub-assembly mounted in the cavity including: an imager configured to capture an image; an aiming light source mounted in the housing configured to generate a collimated beam of light, an illumination light source configured to generate illumination light; and interchangeable first and second cover plates configured for mounting to the housing in front of the imaging sub-assembly to form an external cover for the housing and sealably protect the imager from an environment, wherein the first and second cover plates have respective passive optical elements that modify the collimated beam of light to form respective aiming patterns, and wherein at least one of the first cover plate or the second cover plate has a third optical element that modifies the illumination light.

Reading apparatus, wireless tag reader, and code reader

A reading apparatus includes a wireless tag reader including an antenna and an antenna surface facing a first direction and through which the antenna emits a radio wave to read tag information from a wireless tag, and a code reader including an imaging unit and an imaging window facing the first direction and through which the imaging unit acquires an image to read a code. The code reader further includes a grip detachably connected to the wireless tag reader.

Arrangement for and method of cleaning a platter of a product checkout workstation

A checkout workstation includes a generally planar platter having a contact region, a generally horizontal window integrated with the platter, a data capture arrangement for capturing through the horizontal window a target associated with a product to identify the product being checked out at the workstation, and a support structure for supporting the platter in a generally horizontal plane on a plurality of bottom supports during product checkout. The bottom supports are asymmetrically mutually arranged about a periphery of the platter to enable the platter to tilt to a tilted plane that is inclined relative to the horizontal plane when a downward force is exerted on the contact region of the platter for cleaning the horizontal window.

Barcode scanner system operating through user fingerprint authentication
