Dynamic region based application operations
11704532 · 2023-07-18 · ·

Techniques are disclosed for a hybrid undo/redo for text editing, where non-linear undo and redo operations are performed across dynamic regions in a document and linear undo and redo operations are performed within the dynamic regions in the document. In an example, the hybrid undo/redo may be achieved by maintaining respective region offset values for the dynamic regions created in a document by the edits made to the document. In operation, the respective region offset values associated with the dynamic regions can be used to negate or otherwise counteract the effect of edits made in the dynamic regions.

HUBODOMETER WITH ORBITING DETECTION AND CANCELATION
20230213355 · 2023-07-06 ·

Operation of a hubodometer includes orbiting detection and cancelation. In particular, in a hubodometer having a housing that rotates relative to a pendulous assembly, such operation includes detecting, by at least one orbiting sensor operatively connected to the pendulous assembly, an orbiting condition of the pendulous assembly, the orbiting condition being at least partly defined by an orbiting direction. Thereafter, and responsive to the detection of the orbiting condition, operation of the hubodometer further comprises applying, by an electric actuator operatively connected to the pendulous assembly, a countervailing force to the pendulous assembly in a direction opposite the orbiting direction. Through application of the countervailing force, the orbiting condition may be canceled.

DEVICES HAVING A TURN COUNTER AND ASSOCIATED PRODUCTION METHODS

A device comprises a magnet and an angle sensor, wherein the angle sensor is configured to detect a rotation angle of the magnet. The device also contains a rotation counter, wherein the rotation counter is configured to record a number of rotations of the magnet. The angle sensor and the rotation counter are implemented in physically separate components.

Estimating fish size, population density, species distribution and biomass

A computerized system of performing fish census which otherwise requires high level of domain knowledge and expertise is described. Divers with minimal knowledge of fish can obtain high quality population and species distribution measurements using a stereo camera rig and fish video analyzer software that was developed. The system has two major components: a camera rig and software for fish size, density and biomass estimation. The camera rig consists of a simple stand on which one to four pairs of stereo cameras are mounted to take videos of the benthic floor for a few minutes. The collected videos are uploaded to a server which performs stereo analysis and image recognition. The software produces video clips containing estimates of fish size, density and species biodiversity and a log report containing information about the individual fishes for further end user analysis.

Approaches describe a mobile computing device, e.g., an ergonomically configured connected counting device, to capture counts of people, products, or any countable object, store the counts and associated information in a central repository for access by other connected counting devices. The counts and associated qualifying information can then be displayed through mobile devices and web applications, and can display count data with sales, demographic and other qualifying data sources to provide information for qualitative and quantitative reporting, as well as enable count based automated promotions through traditional channels and social networks.
