Reduced friction for merchant interactions
Improvements to existing technologies associated with point-of-sale transactions and merchant ecosystems to, among other things, reduce in-person contact and, in some examples, improve the efficiency at which point-of-sale transactions are completed (i.e., reduce friction) are described. In some examples, such reduced in-person contact and/or improved efficiencies can limit transmission of infectious diseases. As such, techniques described are directed to modifying aspects of point-of-sale transactions such that they occur on different computing devices (e.g., customer computing devices instead of merchant computing devices), are automated, and/or occur at different times than with conventional point-of-sale transactions. Furthermore, in at least one example, techniques described can leverage a distributed, network-based merchant ecosystem—comprising multiple merchant computing devices and/or customer computing devices that are specially configured to communicate with a service provider—to facilitate social distancing, which can reduce in-person contact and, in some examples, improve the efficiency at which point-of-sale transactions are completed.
Operations system for combining independent product monitoring systems to automatically manage product inventory and product pricing and automate store processes
In some implementations, a device may receive data identifying products and encoded data identifying smart tags of the products. The device may map the data and the encoded data to generate encoded product data. The device may receive encoded data provided by smart tags of products received by a store. The device may receive images of the products. The device may compare the encoded data and the encoded product data to identify a set of the products received by the store. The device may correlate the images with the set of the products. The device may process the correlated data to identify locations of the set of the products in the store. The device may generate an instruction to relocate a product to a new location and may provide the instruction to a device, associated with the store, to cause the product to be relocated to the new location.
SCANNING DEVICE AND METHOD THEREFOR
An aspect is to provide a scanning device, a system, and a method in which an available communication band is not used up even if a plurality of scanning devices are connected to one unit of dedicated hardware. According to one embodiment, a scanning device includes: a camera configured to pick up an image; a reduction unit configured to reduce a data volume of an image corresponding to a merchandise to be outputted to an image recognition device from the image picked up by the camera; and an output unit configured to output the image with the reduced data volume to the image recognition device.
Location based register rules
A system, method and computer readable medium for dynamically determining location-based rules affecting item sales at POS registers for a particular location and for distributing the location-based rules to the POS registers is discussed. A location-based ruleset of rules regulating sales of items at an individual store is created and transmitted to the store along with a rule group to item map file that maps rules and warnings to individual store items. A rules engine at the store provides updated item sale rules and warnings to POS registers based on the location-based ruleset and rule group to item map file. Embodiments thus provide an improved system for updating POS registers at different store locations with location-based rules specific to the store location.
Product purchase support system, product purchase support device and method, POS terminal device, and non-transitory computer readable medium
Provided are a product purchase support system (100), a product purchase support device (10), and a POS terminal device (20) that improve the efficiency of checkout processing for product sales and enhance the convenience of customers when purchasing a product. The product purchase support system (100) according to the present invention includes the product purchase support device (10) including a depth camera (12) and a first display device (13), and a POS terminal device (20) that performs checkout processing for a product. When the product purchase support device (10) detects a product selection motion of selecting a product by a customer, it identifies a product selected by the customer and generates product information related to this product, and displays the product information on the first display device (13). Further, the product purchase support device (10) outputs the product information to the POS terminal device (20).
Independently procurable item compliance information
Systems and methods electronically provide information regarding digital rules related to a potential relationship instance. Users often wish to know which digital rules apply to a specified item before engaging in a relationship instance with a host entity regarding the item. The system and methods described herein allow a computing facility to identify an item and receive resource information related to the item and the digital rules applicable to the item.
Information management system, information management method, and program recording medium
Provided is an information management system that comprises: a payment information confirmation device which is connected over a network to a cryptocurrency system management terminal that manages a cryptocurrency system, which extracts transaction information including address information for a seller account in a cryptocurrency system, and which generates and transmits payment confirmation information including at least a transfer amount from the extracted transaction information; and a register device which is connected to the payment information confirmation device, receives the payment confirmation information from the payment information confirmation device, displays the received payment confirmation information, converts the currency units of an entered transaction amount into a cryptocurrency units payment amount in the currency units of the cryptocurrency system, generates a two-dimensional code in which are recorded the cryptocurrency units payment amount and the address information, and displays the generated two-dimensional code.
Processing apparatus, and accounting apparatus
The present invention provides a processing apparatus (10) including a product database management unit (11) that registers a registration target product in a product database, and a special information management unit (13) that, when a similar-appearance product being similar in appearance to the registration target product at a predetermined level or more is registered in the product database, registers both the registration target product and the similar-appearance product as first processing target products requiring first processing, and registers information associating the registration target product and the similar-appearance product.
Split Up a Single Transaction Into Many Transactions Based on Category Spend
Aspects described herein may relate to techniques for segmenting one transaction into multiple sub-transactions. A user may wish to purchase multiple items. The overall purchase request may be segmented into multiple sub-transactions based on a transaction category of each item. Transaction categories may be based on merchant category codes (MCCs). Each sub-transaction may include one or more items related to the same transaction category. Each sub-transaction may be underwritten and approved separately by the merchant and/or a financial institution (e.g., a credit card company). Financial information related to each different transaction category may be determined based on the sub-transactions. Reward offers may be provided in a more robust manner based on the different transaction categories determined during the purchase process.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, ARTICLES OF MANUFACTURE, AND APPARATUS FOR DECODING PURCHASE DATA USING AN IMAGE
Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed that decode purchase data using an image. An example apparatus includes a dictionary including associated product descriptions and barcodes, interface circuitry, and processing circuitry to execute machine readable instructions to obtain purchase details and barcodes corresponding to a receipt, the purchase details including receipt product descriptions, generate a search query that includes a first receipt product description of the receipt product descriptions, a list of barcodes corresponding to the barcodes, and a store identifier associated with the receipt, execute a search against the dictionary using the search query to identify a barcode from the list of barcodes that corresponds to the first receipt product description, and in response to identifying the barcode that corresponds to the first receipt product description, associating the barcode and the first receipt product description and adding the association to the dictionary.
