SMART DATA CABLE FOR POINT OF SALE SYSTEMS
20180005218 · 2018-01-04 ·

Various embodiments are described herein that relate to network-connected data cables (i.e., “smart” data cables) that are connected to a merchant's point of sale system and a receipt printer. When a transaction is initiated at the point of sale system, transaction data is created by the point of sale system and passed to the smart data cable for transmission downstream to the receipt printer. The smart data cable can parse the transaction data, copy certain elements from the transaction data, and transmit the copied elements to a cloud-based platform that processes the transaction. For example, the cloud-based platform may compare the copied elements to information supplied by the customer through a messaging application executing on the customer's user device. The information may be provided by the customer to a chat bot that is supported by the cloud-based platform.

A method, including: at a client terminal of a user of a social network platform: displaying a first network resource published by a first resource publisher; displaying a resource rewarding affordance in association with the first network resource or an identifier of the first resource publisher; detecting user selection of the resource rewarding affordance; and in accordance with a determination that the resource rewarding affordance has been selected while the resource rewarding affordance is displayed in association with the first network resource or the identifier of the first resource publisher, initiating a resource rewarding operation to reward the first resource publisher on the social network platform, wherein the resource rewarding operation transfers reward goods from a social network account of the user to a social network account of the first resource publisher on the social network platform.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ACCESSING DATA VIA SMART ARTICLES INCLUDING PURCHASING DATA
20230005031 · 2023-01-05 ·

A networked system comprises a main controller that allows users to act as customers, promoters or merchants of smart articles that are displayed by promoters who have purchased these articles from the merchants. The customer uses a controller device to access data from the smart article by capturing an identifying marker on the article and transmitting the foregoing data to the main controller which places the customer in communication with a merchant controller associated with the merchant from whom the promoter purchased the article. The merchant can thus provide data regarding the article to the customer via the main controller and depending on how the customer acts, the merchant can allocate a reward to the promoter via a promoter controller associated therewith.

System and method for transferring funds

A method including receiving a funds transfer request initiated by a sender to facilitate a transfer of funds to a recipient. The funds can be transferred from a sender account of the sender at a sender financial institution to a recipient account of the recipient at a recipient financial institution. The funds transfer request can include a public token for the recipient but not including an account number of the recipient account at the recipient financial institution. The public token for the recipient can be confirmed as useable to contact the recipient based on one or more responses by the recipient to one or more authentication request messages provided to the recipient using the public token. The method also can include determining a private token for the recipient account using an information directory based on the public token. The private token can be embedded with information that identifies the recipient financial institution. The method additionally can include providing the private token of the recipient account to the sender financial institution to enable the sender financial institution to initiate the transfer of the funds from the sender account to the recipient account. The account number of the recipient account is not shared with the sender by the sender financial institution or the recipient financial institution. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Electronic device for performing payment and operation method therefor

Disclosed is an electronic device for processing a touch input. The electronic device may comprise: a touch screen; a biometric sensor disposed overlappingly at a position of at least a part of the touch screen; and a processor for acquiring biometric information of a user from an input relating to an object displayed through the touch screen, by using the biometric sensor, receiving a payment command associated with a payment function for the object, and performing the payment function for a product corresponding to the object by using the biometric information according to the payment command. Various other embodiments may be provided.

ENABLING USER TO USER INTERACTIONS IN MULTI-USER VIDEO CONFERENCE APPLICATIONS
20230025638 · 2023-01-26 ·

There are provided systems and methods for enabling user to user interactions in multi-user video conference applications. A user may utilize a computing device to interact with online service providers in order to initiate and/or join a video conference with one or more other users. During the video conference, the user may be provided with options to interact with other users, such as by engaging in electronic transaction processing. When performing such interactions, data for the video conference may be extracted and provided to a transaction processor server. The server may then utilize the data to determine accounts of users within the video conference that may be utilized for electronic transaction processing services. If no account exists, the server may initiate a process to onboard such users. When an account exists, the server may further populate graphical icons that may be used for electronic transaction processing services.

Split Secret Cryptography Based Security in IoT Implemented Payment Transactions or Credentials

The invention provides methods, systems and computer program products for securely provisioning an internet-of-things (IoT) device for implementing an electronic payment transaction. The invention comprises (i) retrieving a first credential element from the client device, and a second credential element from a router, (ii) generating payment credential data by applying split secret cryptography based reconstruction to the first credential element and the second credential element, (iii) retrieving a unique identifier associated with the IoT device, (iv) generating a combined data element comprising the payment credential data and the unique identifier associated with the loT device, (v) applying split secret cryptography based splitting to the combined data element to generate a first verifiable secure element and a second verifiable secure element, (vi) storing the first verifiable secure element and the retrieved unique identifier within the router, and (vii) storing the second verifiable secure element within the IoT device.

PROCESSING A PAYMENT, BY A SECURE COMPUTING SYSTEM, FROM A PAYER TO A PAYEE OPERATING A MERCHANT COMPUTING SYSTEM

Processing a payment transaction from a payer (operating a payer computing system) to a payee (operating a merchant computing system) by a secure computing system. The secure computing system outputs a financial account registration request form to the payer computing system (e.g., within a window or frame that is displayed within an ecommerce webpage provided by the merchant computing system) for the payer to provide sensitive financial account information, securely stores the sensitive financial account information, maintains compliance with an information security standard (e.g., a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), and provides a non-sensitive electronic data token representing the sensitive financial account information to the merchant computing system. The merchant computing system can then process the payment transaction using the sensitive financial account information represented by the non-sensitive electronic data token without actually receiving—and, therefore, having to secure—the underlying sensitive financial account information.
