Disabling mobile payments for lost electronic devices

If a user loses an electronic device that has the capability to conduct financial transactions, the user may report that the electronic device is lost using a lost-device software application to a management electronic device associated with a provider of the electronic device. In response to receiving this information, a disabling command is sent to a payment network associated with the financial account of the user to temporarily disable use of the electronic device to conduct the financial transactions. In particular, the electronic device may include a secure element that stores a payment applet for a financial account, and the disabling command may disable a mapping from a virtual identifier for the financial account to a financial primary account number. Subsequently, if the user finds the electronic device, the user may re-enable the capability (and, thus, the mapping) by providing authentication information to the electronic device.

Processing of a game-playing transaction based on location

An exemplary method comprises receiving information associated with a game-playing transaction conducted between a user device and a game-playing terminal, wherein the game-playing transaction is associated with a request for playing a game; determining a location of the user device associated with the game; determining the user device is located in an approved location associated with the game; and processing the game-playing transaction based on determining the user device is located in the approved location associated with the game. The game-playing transaction is conducted on a first communication interface, and the information associated with the game-playing transaction is received on a first or second communication interface.

NFC card verification

Methods and systems are provided for verifying the possession of a card, such as a credit card or a debit card, by a card user. Possession of the card can be verified, for example, when a purchase transaction, such as a telephone purchase transaction or an online purchase transaction, is attempted with the card and the purchase transaction is denied due to suspected account take over. Possession of the card can be verified by detecting the present of the card with a mobile device of the user, such as a smart phone. For example, possession of the card can be verified by near field communication (NFC) between the card and the mobile device, wherein the communication is sufficient to adequately determine the presence of the card.

Methods and systems for controlling access to a protected resource

An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device includes a memory, a camera module, a communications module, and a processor that is configured to: receive, from the camera module, image data associated with a machine-readable optical label, the optical label encoding transaction details of a transfer of data to a recipient account, wherein the transaction details do not indicate an identity of the recipient account; receive a user input indicating authorization to initiate a transfer of data, via a protected resource, from an account associated with the user to the recipient account; and in response to receiving the user input, generate a request for initiating the transfer of data based on the transaction details, the request including an access token for use in authenticating the user on requests to access the protected resource.

Curbside management system for connected and autonomous vehicles
11580521 · 2023-02-14 ·

A curbside management system and method for managing curbside use by connected and/or autonomous vehicles that includes one or more computing devices that execute instructions. One or more processors integrate at least a navigation component, an asset verification component, and a curbside management component, configured to generate recommended curbside access destinations for a vehicle associated with the customer and one of which is selected as the final curbside destination for the vehicle.

Physical stand for multiple device orientations and peripheral card reader

There are provided systems and methods for a physical stand for multiple device orientations and peripheral card reader. A device stand may include a dock that allows for placement and securing of a computing device within the device case, such as through a locking or connecting mechanism. The device dock further includes a peripheral component, such as a physical card reader, that allows for reading and entry of card data into the computing device for use with an electronic transaction processing application on the computing device. This allows the computing device to process transactions electronic with an online service provider. Further, the device stand includes a hinge or joint that allows for rotating and inverting of the computing device over a curved extension from a base of the device stand, which allows the computing device to be viewed in multiple directions and orientations.

Predictive pre-authorization of subsidiary accounts using passive biometrics
11580545 · 2023-02-14 · ·

A system and method for predictive pre-authorization of subsidiary accounts using passive biometrics which uses wireless mobile devices and biometric scanning to automatically predict pre-authorized transaction amounts for a plurality of subsidiary accounts in a secure manner without requiring the customer to handle his or her mobile device. The system and method uses a payment facilitation device at the business location which automatically detects and recognizes registered mobile devices, displays a photo of the customer to a business employee for identity confirmation, verifies the customer with a biometrics verification database, generates a pre-authorization amount with an authorization generator, and automatically deducts payments for purchases from a pre-authorized customer account. The system and method may further include capabilities for facilitating offline transactions using accounts enabled as offline accounts.

System, method, and apparatus to interactively broadcast value

A system, method, apparatus, and computer program product for interactively broadcasting value via a sound, a Wi-Fi, a Bluetooth, an email, a messaging, an RFID, or an NFC to incentivize direct consumer engagement. The system produces verifiable data on customer preferences, habits, and purchasing while using secure digital cryptographic technology to convey an item of value. The system is configured to transact a digital token normally carried on a blockchain leger in an off-ledger condition. The digital token is embedded with a media content. A mobile computing device having a representation of a digital wallet is configured to detect the digital token, decode the digital token and is transfer the digital token back to the blockchain ledger. When validated by the blockchain ledger, the digital token is transacted to a digital wallet on the blockchain ledger.

Transaction authentication platform

A method and system are disclosed in an electronic payment network, for associating a payment card of a cardholder with a personal computing device of the cardholder, then authenticating the payment card in electronic transactions processed in the network. The card and a device activation code are input to the cardholder device by the cardholder, then communicated sent to a remote server for obtaining a card token. The server generates a device token and an authorisation token, stores the generated tokens together with the card token, and sends the card and device tokens to the cardholder device for storage. Whenever a transaction is processed in the network, the payment card is authenticated by inputting authenticating data to the cardholder device for generating an authorisation token, which is sent to the server with the stored card and device tokens, for a matching operation against the card, device and authorisation tokens at the server.

Electronic identification and authentication system

A system includes a service provider device and a point of sale (POS) device. A session between a user device and the POS device is established. An authentication request associated with the user device is provided via a user interface of the POS device. Subsequent to an authentication of information, responsive to the authentication request, the POS device receives funding instrument (FI) proxy information corresponding to FIs, which is unusable to identify the FIs by a merchant. A selectable representation corresponding to the FI proxy information is provided via the user interface. Responsive to receiving an indication of a selected member from the selectable representation, information for the selected member is sent. The service provider device determines that the session corresponds to an account associated with the user device and the merchant, and performs a transaction for the session using a first FI that corresponds to the selected member.
