Elements are included in a structured media definition to cause the video player to instantiate one or more new elements on a webpage when the media is played, including a first script that includes instructions to generate an interactive menu and second script, such that selection of an option from the interactive menu will call one or more application programming interface (API) functions of the second script. The structured media definition causes loading of the video and execution of the instructions. A server backend receives and processes API calls from the second script and transmits responses to the API calls to be acted upon by the second script.

These recommendations are affected by the amount of user participation, thereby rewarding those with extensive user participation.

The computing device can display the first content object corresponding to a collapsed version of the interactive advertisement. The computing device can provide for display, responsive to receiving the first action, a target object identifying a location on the display screen to which to move the first content object. The computing device can receive a second action to move the first content object towards the target object. The computing device can then provide for display, the second content object corresponding to an expanded version of the interactive ad on the display screen of the computing device.

Method and apparatus for dynamic, real-time ad insertion based on meta-data within a hardware based root of trust

A client computing system inserts selected advertising into digital content. Ads may be inserted into content based on a dynamic advertising matching process that is securely implemented within a hardware-based root of trust. User profiles used in ad matching may be privacy protected and maintained with confidentiality protection in the client computing system and/or a service provider server, respectively. When a client computing system makes a request to the service provider server for content with specified ad slots, the request may be made with the client's EPID signature, which is inherently privacy protected. The hardware-based root of trust protects insertion of selected ads into the linear rendering flow of the content.
