This disclosure relates to managing data by an agent located within a mining operation. The data is stored as voxel data on a voxel net server. The server processes user input from a user controlling the agent within the mining operation and receives from the agent a request for voxel data associated with one or more voxels. The one or more voxels are a subset of voxels stored on the voxel net server and each of the one or more voxels is identified based on connections with voxels of previous requests. The server then queries a database representing the voxel net for the one or more voxels to retrieve associated voxel data based on the connections and returns the voxel data to the agent. Finally, the voxel data is displayed on a user device to the user.

A system and method allows a light colored image of an object such as a check to be detected and captured on a light colored background for uploading to a server for processing. Detection involves detecting edges of objects on the image, drawing a rectangle around the detected edges, testing for an aspect ratio of the rectangle within an approved range, testing for the rectangle being outside of a margin of the image and being a certain percentage of the image, and testing for blur within a tolerable range.

A computing device may include a processor and memory configured to determine a factor in which to scale content displayable on a client computing device based upon a ratio of physical sizes of different screens on which to display the content. One of the different screens may be that of the client computing device. A vehicle takes and evaluates an image of the surroundings of the vehicle. If the result of the evaluation is that the image possibly contains a static object that could be suitable as a landmark, then the image and a position of the vehicle ascertained by the vehicle at the location at which the image is taken are transmitted to a data processing station. Image analysis of the received image allows the data processing station to establish whether the supposedly static object is suitable as a landmark. When the object has been verified as a landmark, the data processing station creates a data record describing the object, which data record is transmitted to the vehicle.
