An autonomous vehicle (AV) includes features that allows the AV to comply with applicable regulations and statues for performing safe driving operation. Example embodiments disclosed herein provide enhanced high-precision operation of an AV in low-speed environments, such as a toll booth facility or heavy traffic. One example method disclosed herein includes a control computer identifying a starting point of the toll booth facility on the roadway and a plurality of toll lanes associated with the toll booth facility; selecting a particular toll lane; determining a trajectory for the AV that extends through the particular toll lane; and in response to the autonomous vehicle arriving at the starting point for the toll booth facility, transmitting, over a subsystem interface to one or more drive subsystems of the AV, instructions configured to cause the drive subsystems to operate together to cause the AV to travel according to the trajectory.

A system and a method for reporting enhanced toll road data to a toll road audit system is used to independently audit a toll system including the roadside toll equipment, back-office systems, billing systems, the conditions of the toll road, and other toll variables. The device account associated to a transponder device enters device travel data captured by the transponder device. The device travel data is relayed from the transponder device to the toll road audit server, if the device travel data is entered. The device account enters toll device condition data of a toll road device captured by the transponder device. The toll device condition data is relayed from the transponder device to the toll road audit server, if the toll device condition data is entered. A log entry from the device travel data and the toll device condition data is generated with the toll road audit server.

System and method for verification and/or reconciliation of electronic transactions, such as for example, toll transactions or other purchase transactions. A vehicle utilizes an onboard communication device, such as a mobile phone, to locate virtual tolling points using GPS location, and then to communicate to an electronic tolling service provider that the vehicle has passed through the virtual tolling point. In addition, roadside equipment may be used to capture photo/video of the vehicle as it passes the virtual tolling point. The GPS-based toll transaction data is used in conjunction with the photo-based toll transaction data to verify a proper toll transaction, and optionally to reconcile between missing and/or inconsistent GPS-based and photo-based toll transaction data.

An example operation includes one or more of determining a distance traveled by a transport using data points from a sensor, determining an error exists with one or more of the data points, correcting the error by the sensor, discarding one or more of the data points when the error is above a threshold or when the error cannot be corrected and determining a minimum reasonable path of the transport using a remaining portion of the data points.

A system, method, and computer readable medium for toll service activation using an on-board unit in a third party transport comprises, a third party entity, a toll rental entity, and an on-board unit communicably coupled to the third party entity and to the toll rental entity, wherein the on-board unit, receives a position signal, initiates a toll service request, converts the position signal to a toll usage, and stores the position signal, the toll service request and the toll usage.

A service layer entity may register to another service layer entity and proactively request to gain access to the local services hosted by the registrar entity. A registrar entity may accept a registree entity's registration request but only grant access of its partial services to the registree entity. If a registree entity does not need to proactively request the services within its registration request message, the registrar entity decides what services may be needed by the registree entity and grants access of those services to the registree entity.

An apparatus for paying a wireless charging fee for an electric vehicle while being driven may include: an electric power receiver configured to perform wireless charging of an electric vehicle; a toll fee payment processor configured to perform a fee collection processing with respect to the electric vehicle in response to a toll fee payment request from a gantry; and a controller configured to generate information on an accumulated charging amount of the electric vehicle before the electric vehicle passes through the gantry in response to the toll fee payment request from the gantry and transmit the information on the accumulated charging amount to the toll fee payment processor.

A system for collecting a toll owed by a rental vehicle traveling along a toll road includes network interface hardware. a memory module, and a processor communicatively coupled to the network interface hardware and the memory module. Wherein the memory module stores logic that when executed by the processor, causes the processor to receive a rental start notification from the network interface hardware; and automatically execute toll payment logic stored on the memory module in response to receipt of the rental start notification. The toll payment logic causes the processor to detect and toll payment event throughout a rental period.

A system and a method for facilitating the collecting of the Road Use Charges (RUC) using a digital currency based on a Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) network is disclosed. The method includes processing the Road User data and Facility Owner data to generate user accounts on the Road Ledger℠, a DLT network, receiving Road User data from at least one Road User device, receiving position and distance data from at least one input device, receiving cost data from at least one Facility Owner device, analyzing data to generate a transaction(s) in the form of a policy and a smart contract, and adding the Trip Coin℠ Digital Currency (TCDC) corresponding to the payment alert to the digital wallet of the user, by a processing device on the Road Ledger℠, a DLT network. Further, method includes transferring TCDC to Facility Owners digital wallets for RUC using Road Ledger℠, using a storage device.

A parking management system identifies vehicles in entrance lanes, exit lanes, or both, of a parking facility and provides a real-time vehicle inventory count.
