Upon a player making a selection of one of the first lottery tickets for purchase, a controller in communication with the dispenser determines whether one or more other lottery games are available for play within the jurisdiction. The method assigns one or more companion games from the available other lottery games based on the player's selection of the first lottery ticket and predefined filter values. The companion games are presented to the player as a suggestion or recommendation for an additional lottery ticket purchase. Upon the player selecting one of the companion games for purchase, the additional lottery ticket is provided to the player from the dispenser.

The guiding press plate drive device includes a linear electromagnet (50), a lever (51), a pulling plate (52) and a spring (53). The linear motion of the linear electromagnet (50) pushes the lever (51) to rotate, and the rotation of the lever (51) drives the pulling plate (52) and the guiding press plate (38) connected to the pulling plate (52) to rotate, so that a lottery ticket tape (16) is bent toward the cutter (36). The lottery tickets feeding device makes the lottery tickets to roll back, thereby a lottery ticket is separated.

A lottery ticket distribution device (10) for dispensing scratch-off lottery tickets, which includes; a housing, a lottery ticket feeding device, a cutter (36), a guiding press plate (38), and a guiding press plate drive device and a control device (23). The guiding press plate drive device includes a linear electromagnet (50), a lever (51), a pulling plate (52) and a spring (53). The linear motion of the linear electromagnet (50) pushes the lever (51) to rotate, and the rotation of the lever (51) drives the pulling plate (52) and the guiding press plate (38) connected to the pulling plate (52) to rotate, so that a lottery ticket tape (16) is bent toward the cutter (36). The lottery tickets feeding device makes the lottery tickets to roll back, thereby a lottery ticket is separated.

The separator device includes a shuttle that travels in a linear path along the line, the shuttle having a head that engages and separates the leading ticket from the adjacent ticket along the line. A bi-directional drive mechanism moves the shuttle back and forth along the linear path.

A lottery ticket dispensing unit includes at least one ticket compartment and a separation module that has a drive roller and an opposed idler roller, with a motor geared to the drive roller. An automatic separator device is provided, wherein the drive roller conveys a leading lottery ticket to a separation position such that a line between the leading ticket and an adjacent ticket is presented to the separator device. The separator device includes a shuttle that travels in a linear path along the line, the shuttle having a head that engages and separates the leading ticket from the adjacent ticket along the line. Embodiments of a ticket burster employ a dividing wall that is movable between different positions to facilitate dispensing tickets of different sizes, and a sensor that detects and communicates the position of the dividing wall to a controller. The controller communicates with feed motors to selectively operate feed drive rollers independently or in unison depending upon the detected position of the dividing wall.
