REMOTE CONTROL BUTTON ACTUATION SYSTEM WITH PROXY REMOTE
20200219383 · 2020-07-09 · ·

An actuation system used to actuate one or more buttons on a remote control device, such as a key fob, based upon commands that are generated from a mobile device. The actuation system includes a key fob enclosure located remotely from the vehicle. When a command is received on the mobile device, the command is relayed to a controller within the key fob enclosure, causing a button on the key fob to be depressed. The RF signal from the key fob is translated into a digital message which is relayed to a proxy remote located within the vehicle. The proxy remote, in turn, translates the digital message to an RF signal which is transmitted and received by systems within the vehicle. In this manner, the proxy remote is able to communicate using RF signals with the vehicle without requiring the key fob to be located near the vehicle.

Alternative electronic and keyless mechanical single lock control

A lock for an access door having an electrically powered electronic smart lock control and a keyless mechanical lock control, and a single locking bolt element. The single locking bolt element is made movably operable, to permit opening of the access door, with either of an electronic code entry via the electrically powered electronic smart lock control or a mechanical code entry via the keyless mechanical lock control. The mechanical lock control, with mechanical code entry, thereby provides a fail-safe back up for keyless entry through the access door in the event of electrical failure on the electronic smart lock.

A method for converting a legacy building into a smart building. The method including calculating a distance between a first connection point and a second connection point; creating a cable having a first length based on the distance between the first connection point and the second connection point; installing a demarcation point; installing a plurality of systems; connecting the demarcation point and a system using the cable, to create a smart building system; connecting the smart building system to a portal; and testing the connection of the smart building system to the portal.

ELECTRONIC KEYPAD ASSEMBLY FOR LOCKSET

An electronic security keypad assembly includes a cover made of sheet metal, a keypad, and a mounting plate. Tabs extending the from the cover engage dented tab receiving regions of the mounting plate to secure the cover to the mounting plate. The tabs, when bent around the dented tab receiving regions, are obscured from access when mounted to a door, deterring physical tampering with the electronic keypad assembly.

ELECTRONIC LOCK MECHANISM

An interchangeable electronic lock mechanism provides selective access to a motor controlled latching system including a motorized pin to lock and unlock a knob assembly. The lock mechanism may be used to replace key operated locking cores, on the exterior of a storage unit, with a plug and optional adapter inserted into a remaining shell housing, and a driver to control access to a storage unit. Manual rotation of the knob activates the drive assembly to control access to the storage unit. An optional break away security feature in the knob inhibits unauthorized unlatching of the lock. When the lock is unlatched, the knob rotates the drive assembly including the plug and adapter within the shell housing, and in turn, activates the driver to operate the lock assembly in the storage unit. An optional modular chassis assembly includes a removable array of components for testing, maintenance and repair.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DYNAMIC VEHICLE KEY GENERATION AND HANDLING

A system includes a processor configured to generate a new access key, responsive to a vehicle shutdown. The processor is also configured to connect to a previously identified user wireless device. The processor is further configured to deliver the new access key to the user wireless device, responsive to connection to the wireless device and locally store a copy of the new access key in a file designated for reference for a next-access attempt.
