A target odor detecting method for screening odor emitters in a relatively confined space using an animate and/or inanimate odor detector to detect one or more target odors.

Dual turnstile

A turnstile having two hub and arm assemblies funnels individuals to different sides or lanes. Machine intelligence allows the turnstile to select which side or lane an individual transits. The turnstile may randomly, pseudo-randomly, or strategically which side or lane an individual transits.

System and method for authentication using payment protocol

Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for using a payment processing network as an authorization engine to access secure physical areas, such as college dormitories, office buildings. A keycard with a cryptogram generator is presented by a user to an access device, and the access device or associated computer sends an access request message formatted like a payment authentication request message to an aggregator/acquirer and payment processing network. The payment processing network validates the cryptogram and returns an access response message, again formatted like a payment authorization response message, indicating that the keycard is authentic. The gate, door, turnstile, or other barrier is then temporarily unlocked to let the user through.

3D face reconstruction from gate camera

A method of creating a 3-dimensional facial reconstruction of a user of a transit system includes detecting a user within a range of an image capture device positioned at a transit access point. A plurality of images of a first portion of the user's face are captured using the image capture device while the user passes through the range of the image capture device. A plurality of positions of the user may be detected as the user passes through the range of the image capture device. The plurality of images are combined with the plurality of positions and a relative angle and position of the user's face are calculated based on the combination of the plurality of images and the plurality of positions. A 3-dimensional model of the first portion of the user's face is generated based on the calculated relative angle and position and the 3-dimensional model is stored.

Publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex including a surf feature with a centerpiece man-made tropical-style lagoon and method for providing efficient utilization of limited use land

A publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex is disclosed, with a man-made tropical, pristine-clear lagoon as the centerpiece of the complex. The lagoon includes a surf feature and surrounding the lagoon are entertainment, educational, sports, and commercial facilities. The complex has a controlled public access and provides the look and feel of a tropical beach with clear waters and sandy beaches. In addition a method for efficiently utilizing facilities and land that are vacant, underutilized, have limited uses, or that are contiguous to or nearby recreational, educational, sports, or commercial venues is disclosed. The method providing a publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex with a centerpiece man-made tropical-style pristine-clear lagoon having a surf feature. The method allows for generating revenue and increasing efficiency by pairing vacant sites, underutilized sites, limited use land, or sites that are contiguous to entertainment, educational, sports, and/or commercial venues with urban beach entertainment complexes. The complex preferably has a controlled public access, thereby allowing entrance upon payment of a fee.

LIGHT SEQUENCED CARD VALIDATION

A multi-point validation device includes an elongate rail extending in a generally horizontal direction, a plurality of radio frequency antennas spaced apart along the length of the elongate rail, at least one reader module coupled with the plurality of radio frequency antennas, at least one visual indicator associated with each of the plurality of antennas and positioned proximate a corresponding one of the antennas, a processor, and a memory. The memory stores instructions that cause the processor to activate a single one of the radio frequency antennas, cause an indication that the single one of the radio frequency antennas is active to be produced by the at least one visual indicator associated with the single one of the radio frequency antennas, and receive data, at the at least one reader module, from at least one access media via the single one of the radio frequency antennas.

The present invention relates to an access control device having at least one movably mounted barrier element, which can be moved to a blocking position, in which it blocks access, and an access position, in which access is enabled. In order to enable a variable use in different locations without time-consuming assembly, for example in order to variably delimit different spaces in a casino or an event location, the movable barrier element is mounted on a barrier support which includes free-standing ground contact means for the anchor-free, position-variable putting up of a barrier element on the ground. A lateral delimitation laterally enclosing or extending the at least one barrier element has a modular design and can be assembled from a number of side pieces which can be variably joined end to end under different angles and which together form the lateral delimitation.
