Systems, methods and devices for processing coins with linear array of coin imaging sensors
Currency processing systems, coin processing machines, and methods of imaging coins are presented herein. A currency processing system is disclosed which includes a housing with a coin input area for receiving coins and coin receptacles for stowing processed coins. A disk-type coin processing unit is coupled to the coin input area and coin receptacles. The disk-type coin processing unit includes a rotatable disk for imparting motion to the coins, and a sorting head having a lower surface adjacent the rotatable disk. The lower surface forms various shaped regions for guiding the coins, under the motion imparted by the rotatable disk, to exit channels through which the coins are discharged to the coin receptacles. A linear array of sensors is mounted to the sorting head and/or the rotatable disk. The sensors examine each coin on the rotatable disk and output a signal indicative of coin image information for processing the coin.
Coin feeding apparatus and money handling apparatus
A coin feeding apparatus comprising: a disk that includes a plurality of protrusions on a surface of the disk, is disposed to be inclined and rotatable, and, when rotating, causes a first coin or a second coin to be caught on and carried upward by the plurality of protrusions, the second coin having a diameter greater than that of the first coin; a cover that forms, between the cover and a surface of the disk, a space for storing a coin therein; and a separation unit that separates one coin out of two of the first coins from the plurality of protrusions so as to cause the one coin to fall into the space, the two first coins being caught on the plurality of protrusions side by side.

Testing device for testing coin blanks
The invention relates to a testing device 10, that can be a component of a feeding device to feed coin blanks 11 to a coining press or a minting station 12. The testing device 10 has a contactless measuring first sensor device 30 and/or a second sensor device 40. Every sensor device 30, 40 that is present controls an associated removal device 32 or 41. Each sensor device 30, 40 detects a certain property of the coin blank and compares it with a corresponding standard specification. If an unacceptable deviation from the specification is detected, the sensor device 30, 40 in question controls the respective associated removal device 32, 41 to discharge the coin blank from a main conveyor device 13 which transports the coin blanks from a feeding end 14 to an exit end 15.

Coin separating device
A coin separating device has a conveying device for conveying coins along a conveying section in a conveying direction from an input container, a checking device arranged on the conveying section for checking a coin conveyed along the conveying section and for providing a check result signal, a coin collecting device for collecting coins and a coin bridge device that is arranged between the coin collecting device and the conveying device and is realized to receive the check result signal and, in dependence on the check result signal, either to take over a conveyed coin from the conveying device by means of a movably arranged slide and supply it to the coin collecting device by means of the slide or not to take over a conveyed object from the conveying device such that the conveyed object passes from the conveying device to a return means of the coin separating device.
