Gaming chip with a stripe pattern and management system for identification of the gaming chip based on imaging
A management system includes a recording device recording an image of a gaming chip and an inspection device determining a type and authenticity of the gaming chip. The gaming chip has a multilayer structure in which both sides of a colored layer are sandwiched between light color layers, surface printing representing a type of the gaming chip is performed on outer sides of the light color layers, and an authenticity recognition mark is printed on the colored layer of an inside of the light color layers by an infrared absorbing material. A visible light camera photographs a visible light image of the surface printing, and an infrared light camera photographs an infrared image of the internal printing. The inspection device determines the type and authenticity of the gaming chip using the visible light image and the infrared image.
COMPUTER-IMPLEMENTED METHOD FOR COPY PROTECTION, DATA PROCESSING DEVICE AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT
A computer-implemented method for preventing unauthorized processing of a digital representation of at least a portion of a document, a device for data processing, and a computer program product are provided, wherein in particular the document is a banknote. The method comprises providing data, wherein the data is based on the digital representation of at least a portion of a test element. The digital representation may be an image file corresponding to the at least one portion of the test element. The method also involves analyzing the data with regard to data representing at least one characterizing feature of the at least one portion of the document. The method further comprises activating prohibiting means if the data being based on the digital representation of the at least one portion of the test element is similar to the data representing the at least one characterizing feature. The prohibiting means prohibit the data being based on the digital representation of the at least one portion of the test element to be further processed, in particular comprising copying and/or transmitting and/or printing and/or reproducing the data. Alternatively, the prohibiting means amend the data such that the data is prevented from being transmitted and/or printed and/or reproduced and/or further amended by data processing devices.

A METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSPECTING A LIGHT CONTROL LAYER FOR A SECURITY DEVICE
A method of inspecting a substantially transparent light control layer for an optically variable security device and a corresponding inspection apparatus, the substantially transparent light control layer including a surface relief defined by an array of substantially transparent refractive microstructures. The method includes: directing a beam of substantially collimated light towards a first region that is expected to contain the surface relief of the light control layer so as to generate an inspection light pattern; providing reference data that is indicative of a light control layer that meets a predetermined quality threshold; comparing the inspection light pattern with the reference data; and determining whether the light control layer meets the predetermined quality threshold based on the comparison.
DETERMINATION DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD FOR DETERMINATION DEVICE, DETERMINATION SYSTEM, CONTROL METHOD FOR DETERMINATION SYSTEM, AND PROGRAM
A determination system includes an imaging data acquisition device that captures an image of a printed surface of a printed product to acquire imaging data of the captured image, and a determination device that determines a printing method used to produce the printed surface of the printed product for capturing an image by the imaging data acquisition device. The determination device selects a determination area included in the captured image, extracts a determination end image from a portion around an end portion of a black determination image included in the determination area, acquires difference data that is a difference in gradation between two colors among gradation data of RBG colors of the extracted determination end image, acquires a determination value for determining a printing method used to produce the printed surface of the printed product, and determines a printing method used to produce the printed surface of the printed product.
Security ink system
A security system, such as a banknote, comprises: i) a substrate, ii) a first ink, which is applied on at least a part of at least one surface of the substrate, wherein the first ink includes at least one IR luminescent dye and/or at least one IR luminescent pigment, and iii) a second non-luminescent ink, which is applied on at least a part of at least one surface of the substrate onto which the first ink is/are applied, wherein the second ink includes at least one non-luminescent IR absorbing pigment and/or a least one non-luminescent IR absorbing dye, wherein the first ink and the second ink at least partially overlap on the at least one surface of the substrate, wherein the second ink is applied in the overlapping area onto the first ink, and wherein the emission spectrum of the first ink and the absorption spectrum of the second ink at least partially overlap.
Optical element, transfer foil, authentication medium, and method of verifying authentication medium
A subwavelength grating displaying a colored image exhibiting a color corresponding to a grating period of a subwavelength grating in reflection directions including a specular reflection direction. A relief surface displaying a reflection image in monochromatic reflected light in reflection directions including a direction different from the specular reflection direction. An optical element has a first state in which neither a colored image nor a reflection image is displayed, a second state in which the colored image is mainly displayed, and a third state in which the reflection image is mainly displayed. A plane in which the optical element is disposed and a plane including a line of sight of an observer form an observation angle therebetween. The optical element is observed in any of the first, second and third states according to the observation angle.
OPTICAL AUTHENTICATION STRUCTURE WITH AUGMENTED REALITY FEATURE
Machine-executable instructions arranged to be executed by a processor of an authenticating apparatus, and the instructions configured to read a machine-readable security feature provided on or which is part of the optical authentication structure, and to thereby cause a display of the apparatus to show at least part of the optical authentication structure and augmented reality imagery, which augmented reality imagery at least in part allows the optical authentication structure to be authenticated.
