Apparatuses, computer-implemented methods, and computer program products for currency control

Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are disclosed for currency control. An example computer-implemented method includes receiving physical currency data associated with one or more physical currency notes and generating digital currency data based upon the physical currency data. The digital currency data includes a digital representation of the physical currency notes. The computer-implemented method further includes determining one or more selected physical currency notes for destruction based upon the digital currency data and may include querying a currency attribute database that includes one or more currency attributes associated with the physical currency notes. The computer-implemented method also includes causing destruction of the selected physical currency notes. In response to causing destruction of the selected physical currency notes, the computer-implemented method includes modifying the currency attribute database.

Financial transaction system and method

A financial transaction system includes a bank server, an authentication code transfer server, and an ATM. The bank server generates an authentication code in response to a request message received from a mobile terminal. Then the bank server transmits the authentication code to the mobile terminal. The authentication code transfer server receives the authentication code from the mobile terminal and forwards the authentication code to the ATM which then transmits the authentication code to the bank server for transaction authentication. The bank server performs transaction authentication by comparing the code received from the ATM with the code previously generated by the bank server. The ATM dispenses cash according to transaction information entered by a user using the mobile terminal upon receipt of a transaction approval message from the bank server.

Credit card with location tracking device

A card with an embedded location tracker that can assist with locating a misplaced, lost, or stolen card is described. The location tracking device is embedded into the material forming the card. Other devices can form a crowdsourced network covering a wide geographic area that may be used to detect signals from the location tracking device of the card using a short-range wireless communication technology. When the card becomes misplaced, lost, or stolen, the card holder or the card issuer may use the embedded location tracking device to determine the current location of the card. In one embodiment, a tamper mechanism may also be provided to disable a chip of the card in response to an attempt to deactivate, destroy, or remove the embedded location tracking device from the card.

An ATM pre-registration tool allows a user to request an amount of cash from an ATM before traveling to that ATM. The pre-registration tool receivers a user's request and determines whether a specified ATM contains the requested cash. If the ATM does not contain the requested cash, the pre-registration tool informs the user that the ATM does not contain sufficient funds to fulfill the user's request. If the ATM contains the requested cash, the pre-registration tool instructs the ATM to reserve that cash for the user.

Automated transaction system and method

A system and method provide for enhanced in-lobby-teller (ILT) machines. A banking system includes a local switch, a bank core, a teller terminal, and an ILT machine. The teller terminal allows a bank teller to approve customer requests entered at an ILT. The ILT receives requests and determines if teller approval is needed for the request. If so, the request is forwarded to a teller/teller terminal. When approved, an indication is set in the banking request and the now approved request is sent back to the ILT machine. The ILT machine detects the approval indication and transmits the request to the external-partner switch. This switch returns the transaction request to the local bank switch for forwarding to the bank core. The core may update account information associated with the banking request and then route it back to the ILT where any remaining tasks of the transaction request are completed.

Intelligent processing of broken or failed ATM transactions

Aspects of the disclosure relate to intelligent processing of broken or failed ATM transactions. In some embodiments, a computing platform may receive transaction data associated with a pending transaction of a user and generate hash information corresponding to the received transaction data. Thereafter, the computing platform may identify one or more alternate ATMs for completing the pending transaction and generate navigation information corresponding to the one or more alternate ATMs. Subsequently, the computing platform may send the generated hash information to the one or more alternate ATMs. By sending the hash information, the computing platform may cause the one or more alternate ATMs to await input from the user. In response to receiving a message indicating completion of the pending transaction at the one or more alternate ATMs, the computing platform may initiate clearing of a pending status of the pending transaction.

TRANSFERRING A CUSTOMER FROM AN ATM TRANSACTION TO A DEVICE-BASED TRANSACTION DURING AN ERROR STATE, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF

A system and method of operating a computing system including: detecting, based on a log file of an automated teller machine (ATM), an error event; identifying a customer associated with the error event based on the log file; accessing, from a customer identification database, a customer profile associated with the customer; authenticating the customer on a mobile application, based on the customer profile; and initiating a mobile transaction session based on authenticating the customer, wherein the customer can complete a transaction with the ATM via the mobile application during the mobile transaction session.
