Financial card with dynamic viewing angles to block card information

Methods and systems for a financial card with dynamic viewing angles are disclosed. A first portion of indicia and a second portion of indicia can be disposed on a first surface and/or a second surface of a financial card. The first portion of the indicia can be viewable only from at least a first viewing angle. The second portion of the indicia can be viewable only from at least a second viewing angle, the second viewing angle being different from the first viewing angle.

Printer for selectively printing symbolic information on a medium

In some implementations, a printing system may include a card printer that includes a printing controller and a marking device. The card printer may be configured to receive a first printing instruction or a second printing instruction associated with printing an account identifier on a card. The card printer may receive one of the first printing instruction or the second printing instruction based on whether a risk score, associated with the account identifier, satisfies a threshold. The card printer may print a full account identifier, associated with the card, on a surface of the card based on receiving the first printing instruction. The card printer may print the card without the full account identifier on the surface of the card based on receiving the second printing instruction.

INTELLIGENT REAL TIME CARD ALERT SYSTEM TO DETECT SUSPICIOUS CONTACTLESS CARD READER
20230042425 · 2023-02-09 ·

Aspects of the disclosure relate to a smart contactless card to detect real-time suspicious card readers or other fraudulent devices. Prior to a transaction, the smart contactless card detects suspicious card readers or fraudulent devices. An alert may be generated upon detection of any suspicious or fraudulent card reader. In some arrangements, the smart contactless card may utilize machine learning models or machine learning capabilities to detect suspicious card readers. The smart contactless card may pair with other smart contactless cards to detect and alert users to suspicious card readers or other fraudulent devices. The paired smart contactless cards may share information regarding suspicious card readers or fraudulent devices over a semi-autonomous data-sharing network. A vulnerability score may be generated and used to determine if a card reader or other payment device is suspicious.

Computer-implemented method for performing a restricted transaction

The present disclosure is related to a field of payment transactions using a card that discloses a computer-implemented method and a system for restricting a transaction while using a payment card. A card processing server may receive card details, a transaction amount, a flag, and signature data of the payment card from a remote terminal upon initiating a transaction using the payment card. Further, the card processing server validates the payment card based on the card details and the signature data of the payment card and thereafter determines a value associated with the flag upon successful validation. The value associated with the flag indicates one of two conditions, e.g., a true condition and a false condition. Based on the condition indicated by the flag, the card processing server performs one of a first action and a second action related to either processing or declining the transaction.

Systems and methods for overmolding a card to prevent chip fraud

Systems and methods for overmolding a card are provided. A chip fraud prevention system include a device including a chip and a substrate. The chip may be at least partially encompassed in a chip pocket, and the substrate may be at least partially encompassed by the overmold.

SELF-DISABLING TAMPER-EVIDENT GIFT CARDS

The present invention provides self-disabling tamper evident gift cards, and methods for making and using the gift cards. The gift cards comprise a hidden lower level activation code, and an upper level activation code that is visible. The gift cards incorporate one or more features that render either the lower level or upper level, or both, activation codes unreadable once the lower level activation code is revealed. This prevents card activation at a later time after a first instance when the activation code is accessed.

CARD AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE CARD
20220388325 · 2022-12-08 ·

The invention relates to a card, in particular a chip card, including a computing unit for managing electronic coin data records, the electronic coin data records being issued by a central entity, and a card body with visible data and at least one visible feature. The central entity is at the same time the issuer or administrator of a series of banknotes and the at least one visible feature identifies the card as part of the series of banknotes to an observer. In addition, a method for producing such a card is also proposed.

Gesture-controlled payment instrument

The present disclosure relates to user authentication using a contactless payment instrument. The contactless payment instrument includes a contactless chip and a gesture control module. The user makes one or more gestures at an access device during a card-present transaction scenario and the gestures are validated and the authentication status is determined by matching the gesture made by the user at the time of the transaction with one or more predefined gestures. If the authentication is successful, the payment instrument transmits the payment information required for conducting the transaction.

Security aspects of a self-authenticating credit card

A self-authenticating credit card includes an input device for entering a PIN. The PIN is accepted by a micro-controller that uses the entered PIN as an encryption key for decrypting stored account information. A portion of the account information includes data, that when decrypted, contains an image that is rendered on an integral display, with account information sent to a transaction terminal. A timer is used to limit access to account data while in the unlocked state.

Aspects described herein may allow for a payment card having a first surface and an opposed second surface. A plurality of surface irregularities is formed on the first surface, with the plurality of surface irregularities defining alphanumeric characters. A phosphorescent coating is formed on at least a portion of the surface irregularities.
