CONTINUOUS AUTHENTICATION FOR DIGITAL SERVICES BASED ON CONTACTLESS CARD POSITIONING
20230050991 · 2023-02-16 · ·

Various embodiments are generally directed to continuous authentication of a user to a digital service based on activity of a contactless card positioned proximate to a computing device on which the digital service operates. For example, a series of periodic status messages may be provided between a client device and the contactless card to verify whether the contactless card remains active, wherein authorization to access the digital service continues while the contactless card is active, and terminates when the contactless card is inactive.

Methods and systems for deconflicting data from multiple sources in computer systems

Methods and systems are described for verifying an identity of a user through contextual knowledge-based authentication. The system described uses contextual knowledge-based authentication. By verifying an identity of a user through contextual knowledge-based authentication, the verification is both more secure and more intuitive to the user. For example, by relying on confidential and/or proprietary information, the system may generate verification questions, the answers to which are known only by the user.

Contactless card personal identification system

A dual-factor PIN based authentication system and method uses a cryptogram provided by a contactless card associated with the client in association with a PIN stored by the contactless card to authenticate the client. In some embodiments, cryptogram authentication may be preconditioned upon a PIN match determination by the contactless card. In other embodiments, the cryptogram may be formed at least in part using the personal identification number (PIN) stored on the contactless card encoded using a dynamic key stored by the contactless card and uniquely associated with the client. Authentication may be achieved by comparing the cryptogram formed using the PIN against an expected cryptogram generated an expected PIN and an expected dynamic key.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD, RECORDING MEDIUM, AND PROGRAM

Information processing apparatus and method, recording medium, and program are provided. An information processing apparatus includes the following elements. A receiver receives a command requesting for the execution of predetermined processing. A storage unit stores data and first information indicating, among a plurality of stages in a lifecycle of the information processing apparatus, the current stage determined by the stored data and second information indicating an executable command in the current stage, the executable command being determined for each of the plurality of stages. A determining unit determines on the basis of the first information and the second information whether the command received by the receiver is an executable command in the current stage.

In order to check the authorization of passengers, the following steps are performed:

storing of authorization data, for example of tickets, in an electronic storage area of a portable personal identification module (40) of the user, for example in a chip-card,

storing of identification data that are specific to the user's outer appearance in an electronic storage area of the personal identification module (40),

contactless transmission of said identification and authorization data in a portable authorization-checking device (90),

visual reproduction of said identification and authorization data with a VRD (Virtual Retina Display).

VIRTUAL SMART CARDS WITH AUDIT CAPABILITY

Virtual smart card system includes a virtual smart card server (VSS) which controls access to content respectively associated with a plurality of virtual smart cards. A remote client computer system includes a system level agent which establishes the client computer machine to the VSS as a trusted computer system. A user level agent at the client computer system responds to a request for a virtual smart card operation by causing the client computer system to obtain user authentication information, negotiate with the system level agent to obtain a cookie, and initiate a request to the VSS for the virtual smart card operation. The VSS will perform the virtual smart card operation provided that a security policy is satisfied and will communicate the results to the user level agent.

ANONYMIZED BIOMETRIC DATA INTEGRATION

Biometric features are derived from security data associated with a subject. The security data is obtained from a security device. A biometric value is calculated from the biometric features. The biometric value is anonymized to an identifier associated with the subject. The identifier is integrated with event data associated with a security system. In an embodiment, the security device is a Personal Identification Number (PIN) pad integrated into a transaction terminal, the security data is fingerprint data, which is read from a finger of the subject placed on a fingerprint reader integrated into the PIN pad, and the biometric value is a PIN calculated from fingerprint data during a transaction at the transaction terminal. In an embodiment, the security device is a security camera, the security data is a secure video stream, and the biometric features are facial features of the subject in the secure video stream.

A method for removing an EMV chip from a plastic credit card or debit card and placing the removed EMV chip onto a metal card, includes heating the plastic credit or debit card containing the EMV chip to loosen the EMV chip, the EMV chip being substantially square and planar, the EMV chip having an upward top face, a downward bottom face, and four sides; removing the loosened EMV chip from the plastic credit or debit card; bending the four sides of the EMV chip towards the downward bottom face of the EMV chip; applying an adhesive coating to the bottom face and the bended four sides of the EMV chip; and placing the adhesive coated bottom face and bended four sides of the EMV chip into a holding cavity of the metal card.

Flexible payment card

A rollable payment card is shiftable between a flat configuration and a rolled configuration via a manual rolling process. The payment card comprises a verification element, a processor, an electronic display unit in communication with the processor, and a power element providing electrical power to the display unit. The electronic display unit includes an electronic display region configured to display an image. The electronic display region is manually rollable. The payment card in the flat configuration presents horizontally spaced apart first and second ends and vertically spaced apart top and bottom edges. The first end overlaps the second end during the course of the rolling process, with the first end being disposed arcuately past the second end when the payment card is in the rolled configuration.
