VENDING MACHINE AND VENDING METHOD FOR SELLING RESTRICTED COMMODITIES BASED ON USER IDENTITIES
A vending machine for storing and selling restricted commodities, and a vending method implemented therein. In the vending machine, a control module comprises a processor executing program codes to provide a vending service. A user interface is connected to the control module, comprising a sensor sampling biometric characteristics of a user. A communication module is connected to the control module, comprising a wireless transceiver configured to receive commands from the control module, and communicate with a central system or the user. The control module drives said sensor to capture the biometric characteristics of the user, and then uploads the biometric characteristics to the central system through the communications module. A database storing associations of the biometric characteristics and identity characteristics of users. The control module receives a search result from the database based on the biometric characteristics of the user to determine whether a restricted commodity is authorized for sale.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ROBOTIC VENDING MACHINE
A system and method for a vending machine is provided. One embodiment has a user interface configured to receive a plurality of user selections of a plurality of food products of interest from the user; a robotic system configured to transport a container to a plurality of food tanks to receive food products dispensed from selected ones of the plurality of food tanks, wherein a unique machine readable code is printed on an outside surface of at least one of the container and a container seal; and a scanner configured to scan the machine readable code. Wherein prior to delivery of the container with the machine readable code, the controller system controls the robotic system so that the scanner acquires the machine readable code, and wherein the controller system associates at least food product information with the received machine readable code information.
Digital jukebox device with improved user interfaces, and associated methods
Certain exemplary embodiments relate to entertainment systems that interact with users to provide access to media appropriate to and/or customized for a particular user using the entertainment system, the location at which the entertainment system is being accessed, and/or a predefined event. For example, in certain exemplary embodiments, an entertainment system in a location is configured to provide jukebox-related and entertainment system mediated services that are accessible from within and from the outside of the location, and provide (1) attract or flight media operations, (2) browsing services, and/or (3) search screens appropriate to and/or customized for a particular user using the entertainment system, the location at which the entertainment system is being accessed, and/or a predefined event. Such screens may be provided with a three-dimensional look-and-feel in certain exemplary embodiments.
IDENTIFYING ELECTRONIC DEVICES USING TEMPORALLY CHANGING INFORMATION
Described are systems and methods to verify the identity of an evaluated device that has been previously identified and evaluated remotely from a reader device. The reader device obtains from an evaluated device temporally changing information, where the temporally changing information includes a unique identifier associated with the evaluated device and a proximity indication. The reader device verifies the temporally changing information by verifying that the unique identifier is contained in the temporally changing information, that the unique identifier is stored in a database associated with the reader device, and that the temporally changing information includes the proximity indication indicating that the evaluated device and the reader device are proximate to each other. Upon verifying the temporally changing information, the reader device obtains the price of the evaluated device, based on the unique identifier associated with the evaluated device. Upon obtaining the price of the evaluated device, the system compensates a user associated with the evaluated device.
BULK PRODUCT DISPENSER
An improved dispenser unit for dispensing bulk food items, including a cabinet having at least one hopper having a drum with product compartments, a deflector and flexible gate valve, a dispense assembly, and a control system. The dispense assembly may or may not include one or more belts and/or sensors. The product compartments include flexible and/or elastic membranes, which dynamically change the effective product storage volume within a compartment, and eliminate rigid or semi-rigid pinch points between the drum and drum compartment. A product flow divider may be positioned above the receiving container in the dispense assembly, said divider configured to cause the dispensed product to divide into two or more flow streams into the receiving container. The receiving container may be vibrated or oscillated.
Map on a phone used to find and operate public multi-user devices
A phone display, shows an internet map. The map allows a user to search for, and operate, multiuser public devices, such as, a hydrogen car fuelling station. The user finds the device, by viewing the device's location, and the phone's location on the map. For example, the phone searches for, and finds elevators, which are shown on the map. The user finds an elevator, by using the map. The user touches the elevator's displayed menu, to receive the elevator's menu's control panel. The received control panel, is displayed on the phone. The user requests the elevator move to the 4 floor, by touch activating a floor 4 icon, on the phone elevator panel. The phone, and elevator computer communicate, over the internet wirelessly, or wirelessly. The user avoids bacteria, that may be on a store's self serve check out machine's physical touch screen, by operating it with the phone.
Moveable safety deposit box system
A re-locatable safety deposit box facility that allows for 24/7 access by authorized personnel to their safety deposit boxes without the need for any attendants at the facility. The facility is self-contained and re-locatable, such that it can be moved from one location to another location. In some embodiments, the facility may be, for example, a standard size shipping container. It has interior dimensions that are sufficient to house an array of safety deposit boxes. The container may also be equipped with devices that may be used to lift the entire container up so that it may be moved to another location.
Systems, methods, and apparatus for facilitating module-based vending
Systems, apparatus, methods, and articles of manufacture provide for modular vending systems utilizing reloadable product dispensing modules, including, but not limited to, vertical product dispensing modules comprising a vertical conveyor and a mounting structure for releasably engaging with module holder structures of modular vending machines, and a central controller device for communicating with a plurality of modular vending machines.
AUTONOMOUS FOOD STATION
A novel food station comprises first and second pluralities of cubbies, each sized to enclose a food portion container, and a food collection hatch that is selectively externally accessible. A heating system can controllably heat one or more of the first plurality of cubbies independently of the first plurality of cubbies, and a cooling system can cool one or more of the second plurality of cubbies independently of the first plurality of cubbies. An internal transport system including an end effector that temporarily couples to the portion container carrier of a selected cooled cubby of the second plurality of cubbies and can controllably move the food portion container carrier to a selected heated cubby or to the food collection hatch.
Remote purchase and automated delivery system for controlled access facilities
A delivery system applies rules for authorizing transactions to a recipient that are individualized for each recipient. These rules may limit the number of items available for the purchaser to purchase for a recipient, the types of items available for purchase for a recipient, and the price of the items for the recipient. The system automates the delivery of the item to the recipient via a kiosk, such as a vending machine. An identification device of the vending machine identifies the recipient. The vending machine dispenses the items to the identified recipient.
