MERCHANDISE TRANSACTION PROCESSING SYSTEM, MERCHANDISE REGISTRATION DEVICE, AND CONTROL METHOD FOR MERCHANDISE REGISTRATION DEVICE
According to one embodiment, a registration device for a transaction processing system includes a communication interface connected to a plurality of settlement devices via a network. The plurality of settlement devices includes a first settlement device and a second settlement device. A processor of the registration device is configured to generate settlement information required for settlement of a merchandise transaction based on the registration of items in the merchandise transaction, and then transmit the settlement information to the first settlement device. If the transmission of the settlement information to the first settlement device fails, the processor records transaction specifying information on a medium that can be given to a customer. The transaction specifying information identifies the settlement information corresponding to the merchandise transaction. The processor also store the settlement information in a storage unit when the transmission to the first settlement device fails.
Reduced friction for merchant interactions
Improvements to existing technologies associated with point-of-sale transactions and merchant ecosystems to, among other things, reduce in-person contact and, in some examples, improve the efficiency at which point-of-sale transactions are completed (i.e., reduce friction) are described. In some examples, such reduced in-person contact and/or improved efficiencies can limit transmission of infectious diseases. As such, techniques described are directed to modifying aspects of point-of-sale transactions such that they occur on different computing devices (e.g., customer computing devices instead of merchant computing devices), are automated, and/or occur at different times than with conventional point-of-sale transactions. Furthermore, in at least one example, techniques described can leverage a distributed, network-based merchant ecosystem—comprising multiple merchant computing devices and/or customer computing devices that are specially configured to communicate with a service provider—to facilitate social distancing, which can reduce in-person contact and, in some examples, improve the efficiency at which point-of-sale transactions are completed.
USER INTERFACE FOR TRANSACTIONS
The present disclosure generally relates to techniques for managing contextual transactions. In some examples, at a sender electronic device, a first user provides authorization to purchase an item for a second user. In some examples, at a recipient device, the second user selects one or more attributes for the item and requests to claim the item. In some examples, an electronic device displays a representation of an item and a purchase affordance for purchasing the item using a payment system that is available on the electronic device.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND CONTROL PROGRAM THEREFOR
An information processing apparatus includes a memory and a controller. The memory is configured to store first software and second software different from the first software. The controller is configured to enable execution of the first software and the second software when an elapsed time since an application of a program on security was last successfully performed is less than a predetermined time, and enable execution of the first software and disable execution of the second software when the elapsed time is greater than or equal to the predetermined time.
Simulated contactless payment cards providing multiple temporary profiles and corresponding credentials
A bridge service is provided to support multi-user simulated contactless cards that in response to receiving a request to provision a secure element with payment card profile information of a user, provisions a token representing the payment card profile, converts the token representing the payment card profile into a format for the payment application; and provides the payment card profile to the payment application, the payment card profile comprising a single use key. The bridge service enables simulated contactless cards to store payment card information for a user on volatile memory instead of the persistent, secure element memory.
Method, system, and computer program product for identifying a malicious user
A method, system, and computer program product for identifying a malicious user obtain a plurality of service requests for a service provided by a processing system, each service request of the plurality of service requests being associated with a requesting user and a requesting system, and a plurality of service responses associated with the plurality of service requests, each service response of the plurality of service responses being associated with the processing system; and identify the requesting user as malicious based on the plurality of service requests and the plurality of service responses.
Method and system for monitoring the presence of a point-of-sale display in a shop, at the sight of consumers
Method for monitoring the presence of a point-of-sale display in a shop, at the sight of consumers, the method comprising: acquiring signals from mobile devices by at least one signal sensor, sending one output from the signal sensor to an analyzing device, wherein the analyzing device: calculates an audience rate of the point-of-sale display on the basis of the output, and determines, on the basis of the audience rate, if the point-of-sale display is in the shop at the sight of consumers or not.
Settlement apparatus and settlement method informing system
According to one or more embodiments, a settlement apparatus includes a processor. The processor detects a state of the settlement apparatus related to execution of settlement processing at the settlement apparatus using a plurality of settlement methods. The processor determines, based on the detected state of the settlement apparatus, whether there is a first settlement method among the plurality of settlement methods which cannot be executed at the settlement processing apparatus. The processor then notifies a customer of settlement method information indicating the first settlement method cannot be executed at the settlement processing or that another settlement method, other than the first settlement method, can be executed at the settlement apparatus instead of the first settlement method.
GENERATION AND DELIVERY OF DIGITAL RECEIPTS BASED ON USER PREFERENCES AND TRANSACTION RELATED DATA
A method of delivering a digital receipt relating to a transaction to a user, the method comprising, at a server: receiving transaction related data from a point of sale system, the transaction related data having been intercepted in a data communications path between a point of sale terminal and a peripheral device; analysing transaction related data to extract user identification data; querying a user data module using extracted user identification data to determine user preferences relating to delivery of digital receipts; generating the digital receipt in dependence on the determined user preferences and the received transaction related data; outputting the digital receipt.
Configuring Point-of-Sale (POS) Applications to Communicate with Peripheral Devices in a POS System
A Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal in a retail environment is communicatively connected to one or more POS peripheral devices. Each POS peripheral device is associated with a configuration file that defines configuration settings for the POS peripheral device and environmental context information for the POS terminal and the POS controller. The configuration files are prioritized according to various criteria, and used to re-configure POS applications executing on the POS to operate optimally with the particular POS peripheral device. Additionally, the prioritized configuration files control the POS applications to update the configuration information.
