Theft prediction and tracking system
11710397 · 2023-07-25 ·

Systems and methods for detecting potential theft and identifying individuals having a history of committing theft use an electromagnetic emission associated with a personal electronic device associated with an individual is received from at least one of a sensor that is coupled to at least one of a traffic camera or an aerial drone camera. One or more signal properties of the electromagnetic emission are analyzed to determine an emission signature. Video data and video analytics are correlated with the emission signature to identify the individual having possession of the item. The emission signature and video data are stored for later use during a checkout procedure. If an emission signature detected at a checkout station matches that of the individual having possession of the item, and the item is not processed through the checkout station, an alert is issued and the individual is flagged as a potential shoplifter.

MESSAGE UPDATING SYSTEM FOR ELECTRONIC LABEL
20230008898 · 2023-01-12 ·

The present invention is a message updating system for an electronic label. The system comprises a message updating device, wherein a controller thereof controls a power-supply transmission unit and a message-update transmission unit to respectively transmit a charging signal and a message-updating to the electronic label for charging the electronic label and updating label information of the electronic label. A detection device picks up the label information to generate label content information, transmits the label content information to the controller to make the controller compare the label content information with update comparison information, and generates an alert message if the label content information is different from the update comparison information. The present can charge the electronic label that is mounted on an article and update label information simultaneously while the article is being transported.

Detecting falls using a mobile device

In an example method, a mobile device obtains sample data generated by one or more sensors over a period of time, where the one or more sensors are worn by a user. The mobile device determines that the user has fallen based on the sample data, and determines, based on the sample data, a severity of an injury suffered by the user. The mobile device generates one or more notifications based on the determination that the user has fallen and the determined severity of the injury.

Systems and methods for increasing alarm confidence in EAS detection systems

Systems and methods for operating an EAS detection system. The methods comprise: detecting an Active Security Tag (“AST”) in an EAS detection zone; determining whether AST is coupled to an object identified in a list; and performing operations when a determination is made that AST is coupled to a listed object. The operations involve: accessing sensor data generated by at least one sensor device disposed on/near display equipment associated with the listed object; processing the sensor data to determine whether a person was within a defined distance range of AST during a period of time immediately preceding the detecting; concluding that a false alarm scenario exists when the sensor data indicates that a person was not within the defined distance range of AST during the period of time; and suppressing alarm issuance by the EAS detection system in response to the false alarm scenario conclusion.

System and method for collecting and returning luggage at public transportation systems

Disclosed are a system and a method for collecting and returning luggage at public transportation systems. The method includes storing characteristic features and metadata corresponding to a luggage and its individual owner, and associating a color while collecting the luggage at a luggage submitting terminal. The luggage may be easily identified at a luggage providing terminal, using an identification tag attached to the luggage and the associated metadata (including the associated colour). Upon an end of journey, the individual may be allowed to pick the luggage upon providing a handshake signal. In case the handshake signal is not provided and the individual owner's metadata is not matched, security agencies may be alerted about picking of the luggage by another individual.

Remote trigger for security system

Techniques for automatically securing receptacles of a retailer via an electronic lock include receiving a user request to reserve a receptacle, selecting a suitable receptacle based on one or more conditions, some of which may be specified by the user, and transmitting an electronic locking signal to secure, and thereby reserve, the selected receptacle. An association between the reserved receptacle and the user is stored, and the user is electronically notified. Subsequently, an electronic signal indicative of the identification of the user (or of the user's agent) is locally received. Upon determination that the user is expected and associated with the reserved receptacle, the techniques include causing an electronic unlocking signal to be transmitted to the electronic lock, thereby unlocking the receptacle. Further subsequently, upon receiving an electronic locking instruction, the receptacle may automatically be secured via its corresponding electronic lock, and a retailer agent may be electronically notified.

IDENTIFICATION DEVICE, LICENSE PLATE ARRANGEMENT AND LICENSE PLATE SYSTEM
20230163793 · 2023-05-25 ·

An identification device for a license plate, the identification device comprising a base structure for attachment to the license plate; a movable member movable relative to the base structure between a retracted position and an extended position; and electronic circuitry configured to transfer identification data associated with the identification device. A license plate arrangement comprising a license plate and an identification device, and a license plate system comprising at least one license plate arrangement, are also provided.

Radio frequency identification (RFID) tag location verification using short range communication

An EAS system first transmits, over a time, a radio frequency identification (RFID) interrogation signal into an RFID interrogation zone of an EAS system. The system then first receives at least one RFID response signal from a first RFID tag of the system responding to the interrogation signal. The system second transmits, over a second time overlapping at least in part with the first time, a non-RFID RF signal into a second zone. The second zone and the RFID interrogation zone overlap to form a zone of interest. The system second receives, from the first RFID tag, an indication that the first RFID tag received the second transmission. The system determines, based on receiving both the RFID response signal from a first RFID tag and the indication that the first RFID tag received the second transmission, that the first RFID tag is in the zone of interest.

Asset Management Techniques

Systems, devices and methods for monitoring and managing parts, enterprise resources and other assets, and alleviating risks, in a complex collaboration environment are provided. According to some example aspects of the invention, a device with a hardware- and software-based control system scans and/or writes unique asset-related information within a plurality of chemical, electromagnetic, or written data-bearing tags within, on or throughout an asset for use in a manufacturing, maintenance and/or tracking process. In other example aspects, the system records that asset-specific information (e.g., using secure network(s) and/or a blockchain), providing it for later access and modification by a number of trusted users, to track and control manufacturing-, maintenance-relevant or other factors. In still other example aspects, an enterprise resource planning system both outputs information to, and receives information from, the control system, reconciling changes in the data.
