Method, device and system for the simulation of the presence of humans

A method, device and system for simulating the presence of humans includes the method steps of defining activity attributes as input data and defining user preferences as input data. As an output, a time sequence for simulated activities is generated, while the method, device and system should provide an exceedingly realistic simulation of the presence of humans for any application where occupancy simulation is advantageous. This is reached in that user preferences are matched with attributes of activity respectively in that a control unit of a device or within a system is configured to match user preferences with attributes of activity for the generation of the sequence list for simulated activities.

SECURITY SYSTEM AND METHOD OF DETECTING CONTRABAND ITEMS

A security screening apparatus for use in detecting ferromagnetic objects comprises a detector apparatus which comprises a housing that supports at least one magnetic sensor arranged to produce a signal indicative of an ambient magnetic field or gradient over a zone of sensitivity which extends away from the housing, the size of the zone being large enough to contain the whole body of the person, and a signal processing circuit which receives as an input the signal from the magnetic sensor and which, in response to a change in the signal produces an alert signal. A beacon that comprises a light source is able to emit at least two visually distinct colours of light, and a control means controls the light source such that in a first condition in the absence of the alert signal the beacon emits a first colour light and in a second condition corresponding to the presence of the alert signal the beacon emits a second, different, colour of light. The light source is arranged such that the position and/or size and/or shape of the illuminated area of the light source in the first condition is different from the position and/or size and or shape of the illuminated area of the light source in the second condition.

A method of operating a doorbell system can include receiving, by a remote computing device, a notification of an emergency event and in response to the receiving, illuminating at least one light of a doorbell to indicate an occurrence of the emergency event. The method can further include, in response to receiving the notification, initiating a communication with an emergency dispatcher and/or an emergency contact. The at least one light can illuminate in a variety of colors and illumination patterns corresponding to the type of emergency event.

Method and apparatus for concealing sensors in urban and industrial environments

The present invention provides a method of monitoring the position of a vehicle, vessel, rail car, barge, tanker truck that is loaded with bulk or hazardous material. A G.P.S unit is set to send a signal to a radio transmitter if the unit moves beyond a maximum permissible distance (for example, 50 feet or more). An oxygen sensor can be used to send a signal to a radio transmitter if oxygen levels fall below a selected minimum concentration. The radio transmitter can send the message to a tugboat crew, police department, fire department, company headquarters, civil defense office or other personnel if either of the unit has moved beyond the selected maximum travel distance or if oxygen levels fall below a minimum concentration. In addition to the radio transmission of oxygen concentration data and/or G.P.S position data, visible or audible alarms can be used such as strobe light, horn or the like. Also disclosed is a system for concealment of chemical and/or biological sensors in a building for urban or industrial environments.

Triggering Actions Based on Shared Video Footage from Audio/Video Recording and Communication Devices

Systems and methods for communicating in a network using share signals in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure are provided. In one embodiment, a method for communicating in a network may include receiving, from a first client device, a share signal including first image data captured by a camera of a first audio/video (A/V) recording and communication device and a command to share the first image data with a network of users; processing the share signal by comparing the first image data to second image data captured by a camera of a second A/V recording and communication device; and generating and transmitting an alert to a second client device associated with the second A/V recording and communication device when comparison of the first image data with the second image data indicates a person of interest is depicted in both the first image data and the second image data.

Security systems having evasive sensors

Networks of cameras and/or other sensors enable a sensor monitoring system or other computer system to control hiding devices used to enable the cameras and/or other sensors to evade danger by hiding or being disguised. Detection and/or determination of potential danger is garnered from data, from some of the cameras and/or sensors, that they or other of the cameras and/or sensors may be facing eminent danger of discovery, manipulation, alteration, deactivation, and/or damage. The hiding devices are caused to hide or disguise the sensors and/or cameras that appear to be in danger. Hiding or disguising can continue for at least a finite duration of time, or until indication of danger is gone. Some of the cameras and/or other sensors, and their associated hiding devices, can be turned off or made to sleep for periods of time until at least awaken by time-out events or by events indicating a need to do so.

Sharing video footage from audio/video recording and communication devices

Sharing video footage recorded by audio/video (A/V) recording and communication devices, such as video doorbells and security cameras. When an A/V recording and communication device records video footage of suspicious activity, or even criminal activity, a user viewing the footage may alert his or her neighbors by sharing the video. In various embodiments, the user may share the video with anyone of the user's choosing, including neighbors, friends, and family.

CONTROL OF VEHICLE STATUS DISPLAY FOR OCCUPANT THREAT REDUCTION

A system for a system for controlling a vehicle fuel-level display includes one or more processors and a memory communicably coupled to the one or more processors and storing a fuel-level display control module. The module includes computer-readable instructions that when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to, responsive to generation of a control signal, control operation of the vehicle so as to cause the fuel-level display to display a predetermined false low-fuel level.
