Method for protecting terminal devices and the terminal device thereof
The present disclosure relates to a method for protecting a terminal device and the terminal device thereof. The method includes: obtaining status information of a terminal device plugged with an earphone; determining whether the status information meets a preset condition; and activating an alarm mode of the terminal device when the status information meets the preset condition. According to the present disclosure, given that activating the alarm mode of the terminal device is based on the status information of the terminal device, the alarm mode of the terminal device can be activated based on environment information of the terminal device without a user manually activating the alarm mode of the terminal device, therefore user experience is improved. Moreover, the security of the terminal device is further improved by avoiding an incident of the user forgetting to start the alarm mode, thus further protecting the terminal device.
AUTOMATIC SECURITY CHECK FOR MISSING PASSENGER ON RIDE SERVICES
An apparatus includes a processor and a memory that stores code executable by the processor to transmit a passenger status message in response to a trigger event indicative of a passenger failing to be picked up at a pickup location by a ride service vehicle. The passenger status message is transmitted to a passenger mobile communication device and a driver. The code is executable to transmit a help message to members of a passenger trusted list in response to receiving a reply to the passenger status message from the passenger indicative of a request for help by the passenger. The code is executable to transmit to a police agency a police request to assist the passenger in response to a trusted list timeout, which is indicative of not receiving a message from a member of the passenger trusted list that indicates the passenger is okay before the trusted list timeout.
Smart-device communication in response to event
A smart device communication system and method are disclosed. The smart device communication system is based on an Internet of Things (IoT) device attached to or in vicinity to an object. In response to an occurrence related to the object, the IoT device sends an event signal that is received by one or more community-capable IoT devices that are geographically co-located with the object. The community-capable IoT device(s) respond by taking one or more actions in response to receiving the event signal. The IoT device and the community-capable IoT device(s) are not co-owned.
