Electronic device and method of controlling the same
A method of controlling an electronic device is provided. The method includes transmitting a communication signal to a plurality of candidate devices in the vicinity of the electronic device, generating a function code including configuration information of the electronic device, receiving candidate function codes including configuration information of the plurality of candidate devices from the plurality of candidate devices based on the communication signal, and when a feature of the plurality of candidate devices is determined to be similar to a feature of the electronic device based on the candidate function condes, generating at least one of an alert signal or a setting signal based on whether the function code matches the candidate function codes.
Security system including automation notification and surveillance integration
A security system including automated notification and surveillance integration is provided. In the security system of the present disclosure, when any of the devices are locked, unlocked, interacted with, alarmed or triggered, a notification or communication signal is sent to at least one other device. The at least one other device may be a receiver, camera, smart phone, smart watch, laptop, desktop, and/or an Internet connected or Internet of Things (IoT) device. Additionally, a system is provided including at least one alarm module that generates an audible sound when an alarm condition is detected; at least one sensor that detects the audible sound and determines if the audible sound is within a predetermined frequency range and an interface that receives at least one first communication signal from the at least one sensor upon detecting an alarm and transmits at least one second communication signal to at least one device.
ENHANCED SITUATIONAL AWARENESS FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE
An emergency system can access a variety of situational data items, such as video streams, facility information, and present and past incident data. The emergency system identifies data items that may be relevant to a particular incident and provides the relevant data items in one or more user interfaces. For example, the emergency system identifies relevant data items based on the reported location of the incident and the type of incident. As additional incident information is received or entered by telecommunicators, the emergency system can further filter and surface data items likely to be useful in responding to the incident. Certain data items may only be permitted to be viewed by certain types of users, or under certain conditions. The emergency system may ensure that data items are provided to authorized users and in permitted use cases.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF MONITORING ALARMS FROM THIRD PARTY DEVICES
A server acts as an event analyzer for a home security or monitoring system. The server receives a signal from a remote third-party server, the signal including data relating to a condition detected by a device at a premises. The server determines whether the remote third-party server corresponds to a preexisting third-party server registration. The server determines whether the device corresponds to a preexisting device registration. When the remote third-party server is determined to correspond to the preexisting third-party server registration and the device is determined to correspond to the preexisting device registration, the server determines whether the condition detected by the device at the premises is an alarm condition. When the condition detected by the device at the premises is determined to be the alarm condition, the server transmits an alarm signal to a central monitoring station.
System and method providing early prediction and forecasting of false alarms by applying statistical inference models
A diagnostics and prediction system including a cloud system that continuously collects operating parameters from each of a number of environmental sensors and provides access to this data by a plurality of processing applications including (1) a predictive modeling system including (a) a health prediction system, (b) a sensor false alarm prediction system, (c) a zone false alarm prediction system and (d) a reporting system, (2) a system that diagnoses and predicts environmental hazardous areas and clusters areas based upon concentrations of CO in the site or building; and (3) a battery prediction system that predicts a battery life for the sensor.
Community-based security system
A server accesses a security system profile of a first security system. The security system profile identifies a plurality of sensors connected to the first security system. The server identifies a second security system based on at least a first sensor of the plurality of sensors coupled to the first security system. The server then generates a notification sharing profile for the first security system based on the security system profile. The notification sharing profile indicates that the second security system corresponds to the first sensor. A first event triggered by the first sensor causes a first notification to the second security system.
Wired data communications network
A wired data communications network for use in a building for the detection of fire or intrusion, the network including a control unit connected by cable to a series of uniquely addressable transducers for the transmission and reception of data in a polling signal. Each transducer has a memory for control data and for its own unique address and responds to a predetermined start voltage pulse in the polling signal to clear its memory and then responds to control data and address data in the polling signal to store the control data when the address matches its own address and transmit data to the control unit representative of its own status. At least one of the transducers determines whether the control data is extended data and, if so, stores the extended control data and the further control data, and performs the said transmission of data to the control unit and any other process dictated by the extended control data.
