Systems and methods for providing remote-control special modes
A receiving device may assign a remote-control device of the receiving device to a special mode by storing an association of an identifier unique to the remote-control device with the particular special mode. The receiving device may receive a command from the remote-control device and determine that there has been a special mode assigned to the remote-control device based on the stored association of the identifier unique to the remote-control device with the particular special mode. The receiving device will then interpret the command received from the remote-control device according to how commands are to be processed in the special mode. The receiving device having the remote-control device assigned to the special mode may cause the receiving device to execute a different command or process than it would have normally performed when receiving such a command from a remote-control device that is not assigned to the special mode.

Delivery security for a parked vehicle
The disclosure includes embodiments for providing secure package delivery for a vehicle. In some embodiments, a method includes receiving, by a Dedicated Short Range Communication radio (a DSRC radio) of a vehicle, a DSRC message. In some embodiments, the method includes unlocking a trunk of the DSRC-equipped vehicle responsive to receiving the DSRC message by the DSRC radio.
Remote control device
A remote control device (10) configured for controlling one or more remote controllable actuators (50); said remote control device comprising a housing (11), one or more control units (21), one or more electromechanical interfaces (12) and a transmitter (13); said one or more electromechanical interfaces (12) being positioned inside said housing (11); said one or more control units (21) being functionally connected to said one or more electromechanical interfaces (12) which are functionally connected to said transmitter (13); said one or more control units (21) being structurally connected to said one or more control bases (20), said one or more control bases (20) being arranged rotatable about an axis of rotation (rA) relative to the housing (11) of the remote control device (10) wherein that said one or more control units (21) together define at least a first and a second functional position (A,B) relative to the one or more control bases, said first and second functional positions (A,B) being located radially on opposite sides of said axis of rotation (rA) of said one or more control bases (20), said one or more control units being configured, regardless of rotation of said one or more control bases (20), to produce a first control signal when activated at said first functional position (A) and to produce a second control signal when activated at said second functional position (B); said first control signal being configured to cause a first function having a first direction associated with it, and said second control signal being configured to cause a second function having a second direction associated with it, and where said second direction is opposite said first direction.

Interactive media device
An interactive media device comprises a remote control interface that receives a wireless signal from a corresponding remote control with an emergency button. A controller decodes the wireless signal to determine if the user has pressed a button of the remote control to operate an associated television or if the user has pressed the emergency button on the remote control. If the user has pressed a button of the remote control to operate the associated television, then a television interface that issues an instruction based on the wireless signal to the associated television. However, if the user has pressed the emergency button, a medical emergency interface that issues an alert to a local or remote response unit.
Protocol translation with delay
This document relates to protocol translation for remote control of various devices. One example is a technique that includes identifying a controlled device that has a controlled device communication protocol for controlling the controlled device. The technique also includes obtaining translation data that conveys translations of commands from another protocol into the controlled device protocol. The technique also includes configuring a delay for transmitting the translated commands, and performing translation between the another protocol and the controlled device protocol using the translation data and the configured delay.
Multi-mode gimbal transmitter
A wireless transmitter includes a pair of control sticks, circuitry coupled to control sticks, and an antenna coupled to the circuitry. The circuitry is configured to process signals produced by the control sticks to provide control inputs for the speed, direction, and other flight characteristics of the model aircraft being controlled by the transmitter. The transmitter is configured for multiple operational modes in which the pair of control sticks engage or disengage functionality, such as return-to-center functionality, vertical or horizontal position limiting functionality, or position select functionality.
