METHOD OF INLET DISTORTION PREDICTION AND MONITORING
20250003835 · 2025-01-02 ·

A method for a gas turbine engine includes calculating an inlet airflow distortion value at a reference area within an airflow duct and in front of a fan of the gas turbine engine. The inlet airflow distortion value is indicative of an air pressure of an air vortex at the reference area caused by a set of crosswind conditions. The calculating is based on a ratio between an inlet airflow static air pressure in the reference area and a total ambient air pressure. The inlet airflow distortion value is compared to a threshold corresponding to a permissible amount of inlet airflow distortion at the reference area for the set of crosswind conditions, and, based on the comparison indicating that the inlet airflow distortion exceeds the threshold, an inlet airflow distortion notification is provided. A system for a gas turbine engine and a method for a gas turbine engine are also disclosed.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Rooftop Inspection System

A method and a system for establishing a route of an unmanned aerial vehicle are provided. The method includes identifying an object from surface scanning data and shaping a space, which facilitates autonomous flight, as a layer, collecting surface image data for a flight path from the shaped layer, and analyzing a change in image resolution according to a distance from the object through the collected surface image data and extracting an altitude value on a flight route.

Computer-implemented methods for enabling optimisation of derate for a propulsion system of a vehicle

A computer-implemented method of enabling optimisation of derate for a propulsion system of a vehicle, the method comprising: determining a derate for the propulsion system of the vehicle using: an algorithm; a vehicle model defining path constraints for the vehicle through space; a propulsion system model defining parameters of the propulsion system; an objective function defining one or more objectives; and controlling output of the determined derate.

Distributed airborne transportation system

Embodiments of the present invention provide an alternative distributed airborne transportation system. In some embodiments, a method for distributed airborne transportation includes: providing an airborne vehicle with a wing and a wing span, having capacity to carry one or more of passengers or cargo; landing of the airborne vehicle near one or more of passengers or cargo and loading at least one of passengers or cargo; taking-off and determining a flight direction for the airborne vehicle; locating at least one other airborne vehicle, which has substantially the same flight direction; and joining at least one other airborne vehicle in flight formation and forming a fleet, in which airborne vehicles fly with the same speed and direction and in which adjacent airborne vehicles are separated by distance of less than 100 wing spans.

Touch Screen Instrument Panel

Systems, methods and computer-storage media are provided for a touch-screen interface panel (TSIP) of an aircraft. The TSIP may communicate with one or more aircraft systems. In other words, the TSIP is configured to display information of one or more aircraft systems. For example, the TSIP may receive a request for weather information. In response, the TSIP receives weather information from a weather system and displays it via the TSIP screen. In another example, the TSIP may display warnings or alerts that are detected by an aircraft warning system, maintenance system, or the like. Furthermore, information that may have typically been looked up physically or called in to a tower may now be provided via the TSIP by the interfacing of the TSIP with the systems maintaining the information. For example, a charts database may communicate with the TSIP and the information thereof displayed via the TSIP.
