Audio mobility map
A system for spatial representation of regions of interest for a visually impaired or blind person, comprises the following elements: at least one tactile map comprising a top surface and a bottom surface, the tactile map having tactile reference marks on the top surface and corresponding contact areas on the bottom surface, each tactile reference mark corresponding to a region of interest; a keyboard with a matrix of contact points configured to come into contact with the corresponding contact areas in response to pressure exerted on the tactile map positioned on the keyboard; and an electronic audio box, which can be actuated by the keyboard, the electronic audio box being provided with a multitude of audio recordings, each audio recording being associated with each tactile reference mark on the top surface of the tactile map.
VISION-ASSIST DEVICES AND METHODS OF CALIBRATING VISION-ASSIST DEVICES
Vision-assist devices and methods for calibrating a position of a vision-assist device worn by a user are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of calibrating a vision-assist device includes capturing a calibration image using at least one capturing device of the vision-assist device, obtaining at least one attribute of the calibration image, and comparing the at least one attribute of the calibration image with a reference attribute. The method further includes determining an adjustment of the at least one image sensor based at least in part on the comparison of the at least one attribute of the calibration image with the reference attribute, and providing an output corresponding to the determined adjustment of the vision-assist device.
COMPUTER SYSTEM, APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR AN AUGMENTED REALITY HAND GUIDANCE APPLICATION FOR PEOPLE WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS
A system, device, application stored on non-transitory memory, and method can be configured to help a user of a device locate and pick up objects around them. Embodiments can be configured to help vision-impaired users find, locate, and pickup objects near them. Embodiments can be configured so that such functionality is provided locally via a single device so the device is able to provide assistance and hand guidance without a connection to the internet, a network, or another device (e.g. a remote server, a cloud based server, a server connectable to the device via an application programming interface, API, etc.).
Personal navigation system
A personal navigation system includes a sensing suite (50) that is configured to find a safety route for a person; a set of modules (200) including a generation module that is configured to generate an auditory-haptic content (70) that is not perceived visually but perceived by auditory sense or haptic sense and indicates the found safety route; and a communication device (30) that is configured to communicate the auditory-haptic content to the person.
HAPTIC CONTENT PRESENTATION AND IMPLEMENTATION
Systems and methods generating a haptic output response are disclosed. Video content is displayed on a display. A location of a user touch on the display is detected while the video content is being displayed. A region of interest in the video content is determined based on the location of the user touch. And a haptic output response is generated to a user. A characteristic of the haptic output response is determined using one or more characteristics of the region of interest.
Change data driven tactile response
Various examples described herein are directed to systems, methods, and computer-readable medium for providing a tactile response. A document that includes visual data is received. Change data for the visual data that indicates changes in data values of the visual data from a previous time is received. The visual data is rendered. An indication that a section of the document is selected is received. The section includes a first visual data. A change of the first visual data is determined front the change data. A tactile response unit is controlled to provide a tactile response based on the change of the first visual data.
VISUAL ASSISTANCE SYSTEM
A visual assistance system or distance and location detection system is provided. The system comprises a sensor detecting distance of objects in a user's path and alerting the user when an object is within a designated proximity to the user. The system further comprises a location detection system using GPS technology that tracks the user's location and issues an alert to the user or other individual when the user's location exceeds the boundaries of a designated safe zone.
SMART LOCKER WITH ASSISTANCE FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED USERS
A smart locker system with assistance for a visually impaired user is disclosed. Each locker in the smart locker system includes a beacon that emits a signal either before the locker door is released or at the same time as the locker door is released. The beacon is used by a visually impaired user to locate the specified locker before it opens or at the same time as it opens. The beacon may be a haptic device that causes the specified locker to vibrate, which allows the user to find the locker by feel. The beacon may also be an auditory device that causes the specified locker to emit a sound, which allows the user to find the locker by sound.
Smart interactive system for braille learning
The present invention discloses completely digitized, smart, interactive and connected system (100) for braille learning. The invention also provides platform for consuming coupled audio-braille tactile lessons that include voice and braille data input or output serving as educational tool for visually challenged. The smart interactive system comprises a braille keyboard (117), a digital braille 10 slate (116), a proximity touch sensor (120) for input, a large braille display (110) and standard braille display (108), a vibration motor (119) and a speaker (113) for haptic and audio data output. The digital braille slate (116) gives both mechanical tactile feedback and audio feedback via speaker (115) as each braille dots are pressed using the stylus (306). The system (100) is connected to the internet 15 allowing for remote software and content updates and upload of data on usage metrics.
MOBILITY SUPPORT DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
In a mobility support device, an external device that is present on a moving route of a user who is a target of support is identified based on a set moving plan, and first communication means that enables direct communication between the identified external device and a white cane carried by the user is established. Then, support information for supporting mobility of the user is generated based on information received from the external device by the first communication means, and the generated support information is output to an output device.
