Systems and methods for training firefighters
Systems and methods for training firefighters and other first responders are provided. The systems include a plurality of sensors configured to detect at least one ambient condition, such as, temperature; a receiver configured to receive the electric signals from the plurality of sensors; and a digital storage device operatively connected to the receiver and adapted to store the electrical signals corresponding to the detected ambient conditions. The data detected by the sensors can be retrieved for later review, analysis, and training. The systems may include at least one video recorder and/or at least one infrared image recorder each configured to detect images that can be stored for later retrieval and a synchronizing device adapted to synchronize the sensor data with the recorded images for later review. Methods of implementing the systems and portable cases enclosing the system are also provided.
Optimal tactile display
A method and structure for for displaying an optimal tactile display, comprising transforming a CAD image into physical dimensions and creating an optimal tactile display reflective of the physical dimensions utilizing instructions from one or more microcontrollers. The optimal tactile display comprises an array display surface comprising a collection of controlled pins, a quantity of controlled pins propositional to a size of the physical dimensions, wherein each pin assembly of the controlled pins configured to be extended pins based upon the size of the physical dimensions, a plurality of planetary motors, each of the planetary motors associated with the controlled pins and configured to move the plurality of pins, a control unit to monitor the extension of the plurality of pins, and respective linear actuators configured to drive a respective motor shaft connected to a respective lead screw, each respective lead screw placed inside of each of respective threaded circular cross-section stoke tube.

FIRE TRAINING PROPS AND METHODS FOR USING FIRE TRAINING PROPS
Fire training props and methods of using fire training props are provided. The props may be suitable for table-top training and include an enclosure; at least one internal panel positioned within the enclosure and defining a plurality of internal volumes within the enclosure; a transparent top panel positioned on the top of the enclosure; at least one side aperture and a side aperture cover in at least one of the sides of the enclosure; and at least one panel aperture having an aperture cover in the at least one internal panel. When a source of visible fluid, for example, smoke, is introduced to the enclosure, a flow of the visible fluid in the enclosure can be monitored by a user through the transparent top panel. Aspects of the invention are uniquely adapted for training firefighters and other first responders on the dynamics of fire, for example, in an engaged structure.

Temporary access to a media playback system
A playback device may be communicatively connected to a network device at a demonstration location. After connecting to the network device, the playback device may receive from the network device, a message indicating media content for playback by the playback device. In response to receiving the message, the playback device may play the media content, where playing the media content comprises modifying a default configuration of a demonstration mode. After receiving the message, the playback device may be disconnected from the network device. After disconnecting from the network device, the playback device may return to the default configuration of the demonstration mode.
