Method and Apparatus for Supporting User Interactions with Non-Designated Locations on a Digital Map
A mapping system allows a user to interact with any location on a digital map and present the user with location related information associated with the selected location. The location related information may be in the form or a card, pop-up, image, or other graphic and may be displayed on the map at or near the selected location, around the map, etc. The displayed location related information may include predetermined or pre-stored data about the location or may include location related information collected and generated on the fly in response to the user interaction with the digital map. The displayed location related information may be displayed in the same graphical format on the digital map regardless of whether location related information is predetermined information about the location that already exists or information that is collected and generated on the fly in response to the user interaction.
Marine chart and sonar image presentation systems and methods
Systems and methods for presenting marine information are provided herein. A system includes an array of a plurality of sonar transducer elements associated with a watercraft and a display. The system causes presentation of a chart of a body of water, including a representation of the watercraft at a current location. The system also operates the array to cause transmission of sonar beams into the underwater environment and receives sonar return data from the array. The system further generates, based on the sonar return data, a two-dimensional live sonar image, determines a facing direction of the array, and causes presentation of the sonar image in the facing direction on the chart and relative to the representation of the watercraft. Accordingly, live sonar imagery is presented on the chart to visually provide a relationship between objects within the live sonar imagery and the real-world position of those objects.
Apparatus and method for updating high definition map for autonomous driving
A method for updating a high definition map according to one embodiment comprises: obtaining a two-dimensional image that captures a target area corresponding to at least a part of an area expressed by a three-dimensional high definition map, generating a three-dimensional local landmark map of the target area from a position of a landmark in the two-dimensional image, based on a position and an orientation of a photographing device which has captured the two-dimensional image and updating the high definition map with reference to the local landmark map corresponding to the target area of the three-dimensional high definition map.
LIVE SONAR SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A system for generating live sonar images is provided having a first and second sonar transducer assembly. The sonar transducer assemblies each have sonar transducer elements configured to transmit sonar beam(s) into an underwater environment to form respective coverage volumes. The sonar transducer assemblies each define a respective facing direction. The system includes bracket(s) having alignment feature(s). The bracket(s) are configured to mount the sonar transducer assemblies to a watercraft, and the alignment feature(s) are configured to position the sonar transducer assemblies so that the facing directions are different and relative to each other so as to create continuous coverage of the underwater environment. Continuous coverage has an overall coverage volume that is greater than either of the coverage volumes individually. Sonar return data from the sonar transducer elements is used to form a live sonar image representative of sonar returns received from the overall coverage volume.

Road map generation system and road map generation method
A road map generation system is provided that collects camera image data of road conditions captured during traveling of vehicles on roads and generates road map data based on the camera image data. The system performs image processing on the collected camera image data to convert into orthographic images and to combine the orthographic images to generate a combined image. The system extracts a defective portion of a road marking on a road from the combined image and performs a determination of whether the defective portion of the road marking is due to noise at the image processing of the image processing device or there is a defect in the real world. When the defective portion of the road marking is due to the noise at the image processing, the system performs a correction process of the road marking.
GEOSPATIAL ASSET MANAGEMENT
Described are methods, systems, and techniques to implement an improved map interface that displays updatable geographic information and that enables users to request one or more data products for a geospatial asset corresponding to a region of a geographic area. In some embodiments, a GIS application can be configured to interface with third party geospatial data suppliers that provide different types of data products displayable in the map interface. One or more of these data products can be requested by the user and may be associated with a recurring time interval to provide the user with expanded display views that are up to date and complete.
