Compliance method and system for traffic control devices

A sign comprising a substrate having a planar sign face and an opposing planar back face having peripheral side edges; a recessed portion formed within said substrate having an opening and a bottom, and side walls; a RFID tag assembly having a metal shielding sheet, said RFID tag assembly having a mounting substrate, a double-sided adhesive sheet with one side adhered to a metal shielding sheet and an opposing side adhered to said bottom of said recessed portion; a retroreflective sheeting having a double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive sheeting for application over said RFID tag assembly to hermetically seal said RFID tag assembly within said recessed portion; a translucent vinyl backed material with primary indicia applied to said retroreflective sheeting; and a label with secondary indicia applied to said back face via label adhesive.

Traffic light assembly
11615704 · 2023-03-28 · ·

A traffic light assembly is disclosed with red, amber and green lights. While light is being emitted, a flashing sequence pattern is generated within the area to enhance the meaning of the signal communicated to the driver. The sequence pattern is formed by changing the colour of light emitted, and or by ceasing to emit light. An intermediate pattern that is different in configuration from any of the sequence patterns is provided at a transition between at least one of the red, amber and green lights to further communicate to the driver that the light signal is about to change and that action is about to be required.

PORTABLE, SELF-ILLUMINATING TRAFFIC SIGN
20230086065 · 2023-03-23 ·

A portable, self-illuminating traffic sign having a sign face with two opposite sides. One side indicates a first traffic signal, and the other side indicates a second traffic signal. Light assemblies are attached to each side of the sign. The light assemblies emit light that may match the predominant color of one of the sides of the sign. A battery may be disposed in a pole that connects to the sign. A handlegrip allows for the sign to be held and provides a switch to allow for the lights to be selectively turned on and off. The light assemblies are disposed within collar assemblies so as to reduce, or prevent, light emitted from the light assemblies reflecting off of the sign faces.

Safety light assembly

A safety lighting assembly enabled to cast light rearward toward the surface to which it is attached. The safety light assembly provides additional portions for emitting light in selected directions so as to facilitate situation awareness of the object.

Retroreflective articles and devices having viscoelastic lightguide

Disclosed herein is an optical device having a light source, a viscoelastic lightguide and a retroreflective film suitable for retroreflecting light. Light from the light source enters the viscoelastic lightguide and is transported within the lightguide by total internal reflection. The optical device may have a “front lit” configuration such that light being transported within the lightguide is extracted and retroreflected by the film toward a viewer. The optical device may have a “back lit” configuration such that light being transported within the lightguide is extracted and transmitted through the film toward a viewer. The retroreflective film may comprise beaded retroreflective sheeting such as that used in traffic signs and markings.

Display unit, display apparatus containing at least one display unit, and use of the display unit and the display apparatus
11262047 · 2022-03-01 ·

A display unit includes a transparent or translucent layer with a display side and a rear side, with an opaque or semitransparent layer on the display side, containing a plurality of apertures, a plurality of illuminants which are present at, or at a distance from, the rear side of the transparent or translucent layer, at least partly embedded in the layer, wherein at least one illuminant is substantially behind one of the apertures in each case configured and designed to emit light in the direction of and through the aperture, a transparent or translucent lamination ply adjoining the opaque or semitransparent layer and covering the plurality of apertures, and a transparent or translucent protective layer adjoining this lamination ply. Also disclosed are a display apparatus and a traffic guidance system comprising such a display unit, and use of the display unit as a media energy façade or a daylight display.

LIGHT-EMITTING SIGN APPARATUS
20170301268 · 2017-10-19 ·

A light-emitting sign comprising a light source for emitting light, in which the light-emitting sign may be thin (e.g., comparable to a conventional non-light-emitting sign) while creating a desired visual effect using the light emitted by the light source. This may be achieved, for example, by the light source being thin itself and/or by having an external device connected to the light-emitting sign and implementing certain functionalities (e.g., powering and/or controlling the light source).

Warning triangle structure

A warning triangle structure includes a base, a triangle, a number of connecting rods, and a braking device. The triangle includes a bottom end and a top end opposite the bottom end. The bottom end is fixedly mounted to the base. Each of the connecting rods includes a first end and a second end. The first end is fixedly coupled to the base, and the second end is mounted with a rotatable support wheel. The braking device is installed at the second end of at least one of the connecting rods. The braking device includes a transmission shaft coupled to the support wheel. The braking device controls the support wheel to stop rotating by stopping the transmission shaft from rotating.
