A display device includes a light source irradiating excitation light and a window glass for a vehicle, such as a windshield, capable of emitting visible light through incident radiation of the excitation light, and allows the window glass for a vehicle to emit the light so as to display a message toward an outside of the vehicle by irradiation with the excitation light.

On-board signage system

An on-board signage system includes one or more vehicles, a display device installed in each of the vehicles, and a signage controller, in which the signage controller is configured to function as a post collecting unit that collects a post content item uploaded to an SNS site, a post analyzing unit which extracts a location relating to the post content item as a relevant location, a post database that stores post-related information obtained from the post content item in association with the relevant location, and a selector that selects at least one of a travel route of the vehicle and an image to be assigned to the vehicle, based on information stored in the post database, and transmits the selected travel route or image to the vehicle.

The present application discloses a method of displaying images on a vehicle. The method includes disclosing user information, including an image to be displayed, to an exchange application, transmitting the image to a controller configured to receive user information, instructing, by the controller, an electronic display to display the image to display the image to a viewer outside of the vehicle, and displaying the image, by the electronic display, to the viewer outside of the vehicle. The electronic display is disposed on or integrated into a window of the vehicle and configured to move in unison with the vehicle to display the image. The electronic display is configured to be transparent to a viewer inside of the vehicle. The controller is in communication with the electronic display.

The selector, which is communicatively engaged to the transmitter, is utilized by a user for selection by of a respective preprogrammed message. The transmitter communicates the selection to the message module for display of the respective preprogrammed message to persons proximate to the vehicle.
