A digital image display device for displaying a sequence of digital media assets, the digital media assets including both individual digital still images and groups of related digital still images, comprising a display screen; a processor; and a processor-accessible program memory. The processor-accessible program memory stores executable instructions for causing the processor to execute the steps of: designating a sequence of digital media assets; and sequentially displaying each digital media asset in the sequence of digital media assets on the display screen, wherein if a displayed digital media asset is an individual digital still image it is displayed for a specified display time duration, and if a displayed digital media asset is a group of related digital still images the display time duration is subdivided and each of the digital still images in the group of related digital still images is displayed for a corresponding display time duration fraction.

The method including receiving, from the terminal and by a controller of the digital photo frame, a request for connecting the terminal to the digital photo frame; and generating, by the controller of the digital photo frame, a code according to authorization information of the digital photo frame, wherein a server issuing the authorization information of the digital photo frame does not generate the code. The present disclosure also provides a method for transmitting photos or videos between a terminal and a digital photo frame, the method comprising: receiving a request for transmitting the photos or the videos; determining whether the digital photo frame and the terminal use a same WLAN; and instructing the terminal or the digital photo frame to transmit the photos or the videos via the WLAN.

A digital photo frame system is described herein. The system comprises a master digital photo frame configured to display a master media and a plurality of slave digital photo frames configured to display a plurality of slave media. The master digital photo frame is configured to provide power to the plurality of slave digital photo frames, and receive a media package from a storage location. The media package comprises the master media and the plurality of slave media. The master digital photo frame is configured to send each of the plurality of slave media to a respective slave photo frame.
