Wherein each chamber of the plurality of chambers has at least one material projection, each material projection being configured to reduce the oscillatory space of a draw reed; and in that the harmonica has at least one additional plate arranged above the first plate and has a plurality of additional material projections, each additional material projection of the plurality of additional material projections being configured to reduce the oscillatory space of a blow reed.

A harmonica including at least: a comb having a plurality of chambers; a first plate having a plurality of blow reeds; a second plate having a plurality of draw reeds. Wherein each chamber of the plurality of chambers has at least one material projection, each material projection being configured to reduce the oscillatory space of a draw reed; and in that the harmonica has at least one additional plate arranged above the first plate and has a plurality of additional material projections, each additional material projection of the plurality of additional material projections being configured to reduce the oscillatory space of a blow reed.

Harmonica with a blues scale based on the minor pentatonic scale, which is formed from the pentatonic scale in the minor key by adding the diminished fifth, comprising at least 10 combs, which are tuned to an arrangement of notes of the blues scale with a multi-octave range, and the comb assignment of the blow and draw channels is determined by a sound arrangement of the scale-specific notes of the minor blues scale, for which purpose the three adjacent combs of at least one octave are tuned to the blow notes (1), (4), (5) and to the draw notes (3.sup.b), (5.sup.b), (7.sup.b).

A reduced air leakage harmonica reed unit contains a reed plate and a plurality of reed sections. The plurality of reed sections is attached to the reed plate with a fastening mechanism and positioned within a body of the harmonica. The reed plate consists of a plate body and a plurality of receiving slots that traverse through the plate body. The plurality of receiving slots are aligned with a U-shaped channel from each of the plurality of reed sections. Thus, air that is drawn or blown travels through the U-shaped channel from the plurality of reed sections and through the plurality of receiving slots. Since the U-shaped channel is precisely cut, air leakage is minimized and high quality sound is produced by triggering a vibrating membrane.

A hands-free harmonica microphone for controlling undesired audio feedback, the microphone comprising: a reflective curved microphone chamber, a harmonica mount, a transducer, associated electronics and a neck brace attachment apparatus for connecting the microphone to commercially available harmonica holders (neck braces). In one embodiment, the harmonica mount is detachably coupled (magnetically or otherwise) to the microphone chamber. In another embodiment, the harmonica mount is integrated to the microphone chamber so that is also possible to mount the harmonica directly onto the microphone chamber.
