Examples of an aiding device for singers are described. The aiding device comprises a body that has a periphery edge, a top wall and a smooth inner wall. The top wall curves away from the periphery edge thus forming a cup-like cavity which is shaped to define a first chamber and a second chamber that are interconnected together. The first chamber is shaped and sized to fit over an earlobe of a singer while the second chamber has a distal end that is designed and configured to be positioned in proximity to a user's mouth. When in use the first chamber encloses one of user's ears and the distal end of the second chamber is positioned in proximity to user's mouth with the periphery edge pressed against user's face such that a sound produced by the user is captured and travels into the second and first chamber and is reflected back from the smooth inner wall producing echo within the cavity. Thus, the unfiltered sound coming out from the singer's mouth is provided to one of the singer's ear in real time and hear the original sound or key in the other ear so that the singer can match his/her pitch to the original sound.

A method for adjusting accompaniment music is disclosed. The method transposes the musical key of at least one section of the accompaniment music such that a song will have different musical key transpositions for different sections of the accompaniment music, so that singers whose vocal ranges are narrow can sing songs after the adjustment.

Music compilation methods disclosed herein include providing a database. Data is stored therein associating a user with access credentials for a plurality of music streaming services. A first server is communicatively coupled with the database and with multiple third party servers each of which includes a music library associated with the user. Digital signal processing and machine learning techniques can be employed in a vocal capture and performance social network to computationally generate vocal pitch tracks from a collection of vocal performances captured against a common temporal baseline such as a backing track or an original performance by a popularizing artist. In this way, crowd-sourced pitch tracks may be generated and distributed for use in subsequent karaoke-style vocal audio captures or other applications. Large numbers of performances of a song can be used to generate a pitch track. Computationally determined pitch trackings from individual audio signal encodings of the crowd-sourced vocal performance set are aggregated and processed as an observation sequence of a trained Hidden Markov Model (HMM) or other statistical model to produce an output pitch track.

A system and method for media content sequencing. Prior tracks for a listening session are segmented into groups based on attribute scores for an audial attribute. A preferred group is then selected, which can be based on user feedback regarding the prior tracks in the listening session. Candidate tracks, such as from a candidate track pool for future playback in the listening session, are also segmented into the groups of the prior tracks. The candidate tracks can then be ranked based on their associated group and the preferred group.

A method generates a sound signal in accordance with score data representative of respective durations of a plurality of notes and a shortening indication to shorten a duration of a specific note. The method includes generating a shortening rate, generating a series of control data, and generating a sound signal. A stringed instrument tuner that senses the vibration of all the strings of the instrument independently and simultaneously via ultraviolet reflective light sensors that are immune to interference from ambient alternating-current lighting. The pitches of the strings are then measured continuously in real-time and transmitted wirelessly to a receiver that simultaneously graphically displays how far out-of-tune all of the strings are so that the musician can instantly see which strings need tuning and tune them quickly.
