ARPEGGIATOR, RECORDING MEDIUM AND METHOD OF MAKING ARPEGGIO
20220343885 · 2022-10-27 · ·

[Problem] To provide an arpeggiator enabling musically natural arpeggio playing to be achieved, and a program comprising a function therefor. [Solution] In the present invention, a synthesizer 1 resets the number of octaves in an octave counter memory 12d to zero at the beginning of each bar when an octave reset function is on. Due to this configuration, sounds generated at the beginning of each bar, that is, when the step count is 0, all have the same note number. Consequently, a sound generation timing-based cycle of an arpeggio pattern of each bar can be synchronized with a pitch variation-based cycle, making it possible to give a listener the impression that a consistent phrase is being played.

In a synthesizer 1, the highest note number is set from the allowed Oct width and the lowest note number of a sound production part in a setting table 11e, and if the note number of an Arp note memory 12b is not between the lowest note number and the highest note number, the note number of one octave unit is added to or subtracted from the note number of the Arp note memory 12b. Consequently, the note number of the Arp note memory 12b is corrected to the pitch range between the lowest note number and the highest note number, and thus can be corrected to the sound production pitch range of the timbre of the sound production part, and arpeggios can be outputted using sounds that are more appropriate for an instrument of said timbre.

An electronic musical instrument includes a plurality of performance elements that specify pitch data; a sound source that produces musical sounds; and a processor configured to perform the following: when a user performance of the plurality of performance elements satisfies a prescribed condition, instructing the sound source to produce automatic arpeggio playing sounds corresponding to pitch data specified by the user performance; and when the user performance of the plurality of performance elements does not satisfy the prescribed condition, instructing the sound source to produce a sound of a pitch data specified by the user performance without producing the automatic arpeggio playing sound.

Automatic arrangement of music piece based on characteristic of accompaniment

Performance information of one or more accompaniment parts is extracted from original performance information. Arranged accompaniment performance information is created using, in accordance with a predetermined arranging condition, only any one or more of pitch names included in the extracted accompaniment performance information. The predetermined arranging condition comprises instructing that any of chord component notes be thinned out in an identified chord progression, and arranged accompaniment performance information is created by thinning out an accompaniment note of a pitch name corresponding to the chord component note having been instructed to be thinned out. Another predetermined arranging condition comprises setting a ratio between chords and arpeggios in one or more measures, and a combination of chords and arpeggios in the extracted accompaniment part performance information is changed so that a ratio between chords and arpeggios in one or more measures in the extracted accompaniment performance information assumes the set ratio.

Music technique responsible for versioning

Systems and methods for versioning audio elements used in generation of music are provided. An example method includes receiving musical format data associated with a plurality of audio elements of a melody; determining, based on the musical format data, harmonic and melodic characteristics of each of the plurality of audio elements; matching the harmonic and melodic characteristics to a plurality of chord progressions using predetermined music theory rules, counterpoint rules, and rhythm matching rules; deriving, based on the matching and predetermined melodic movement rules, from the plurality of chord progressions, melodic movement characteristics applicable to using in versioning; and creating, based on the predetermined music theory rules and the melodic movement characteristics, versions of the audio elements that match the chord progressions.

Systems and processes that use MIDI mapping technology for multiple chord and arpeggio triggering are disclosed, including a multiple chord and arpeggio triggering MIDI mapping system and process that assigns, selects, and records chord and multi-arpeggio functions into a digital audio workstation (DAW) host program or an internalized sequencer and a two-phase multiple chord and time-delayed arpeggio triggering MIDI mapping process for recording a chord progression and enabling multi-arpeggio functions of the chords in the chord progression to be worked on at any time-delayed instance after recording the chord progression. The system divides output from a MIDI controller into chord generators and arpeggiators to allow users to define full chords with a single key selection, while also making immediate or time-delayed single key selections for different arpeggios.
