ELECTRONIC PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT
An electronic percussion instrument includes a base and a drumhead mounted resiliently on the base so as to be movable relative to the base. A plurality of sensors to detect movement of the drumhead relative to the base are spaced about the drumhead at selected positions to measure displacement of the drumhead relative to the base at said selected positions. At least some of said sensors are adjacent the rim of the drumhead and are responsive to movement of the rim of the drumhead towards and away from the base. The individual sensors respond to the movement at their location and the individual responses of the plurality of sensors are simultaneously measured and compared to determine the location of a hit on the drumhead, the force of the hit, and/or the duration of the hit.
INSTRUMENT PLAYING APPARATUS
An instrument playing apparatus has: a movable member configured to be displaced responsive to a playing operation of a user; a detection part formed from a magnetic or conductive body and disposed on the movable member; and a filter that includes a coil. The filter has a frequency response that changes depending on a distance between the detection part and the coil, and generates a detection signal from a reference signal.
Integrated Musical Instrument Systems
A system suitable for use as a musical instrument system is provided. The system includes at least one sensor. The system also includes at least one control surface configured to interface with the at least one sensor. Further, the system includes at least one controller configured to interface with the at least one sensor. Additionally, the system includes at least one program module configured to interface with the at least one sensor. The system includes a base. The at least one sensor and the at least one control surface are positionable on the base. The system also includes at least one data processor configured to interface with the at least one sensor, the at least one control surface, and the at least one program module arranged to function as a musical instrument system.
Touchless knob and method of use
A signal processing system, machine and method of use to dynamically change the parameters of an audio-visual signal processing circuit without making physical contact.

Wearable sensor system for providing a personal magnetic field and techniques for horizontal localization utilizing the same
A wearable sensor system is disclosed that provides a measurable magnetic field that changes horizontally within the range of motion of human limbs. The wearable sensor system includes a magnetic sensing device, and one or more magnet devices that provide the measurable magnetic field with a strength exceeding the Earth's magnetic field. To this end, the magnetic sensing system provides a personal magnetic field about a user, with that magnetic field traveling with the user and overpowering adjacent interfering fields. The wearable sensor system may include a sensor arrangement that measures a strength of the personal magnetic field and field direction to perform horizontal localization, and may send a representation of a same to a remote computing device to cause an action to occur. Some such actions include output of pre-recorded or synthesized musical notes, for example.
Touchless signal modifier and method of use
A signal processing system, machine, and method of use to dynamically vary the power supplied to a signal processing circuit, imparting the processed output signal of the signal processing circuit with alterations substantially beyond the alterations typically produced by the signal processing circuit.

Method of displaying light with the rhythm of music
A method of displaying light with the rhythm of music that uses a host system to control display units to display light-emitting colors along with music. The control unit of each display unit controls display elements to operate separately or synchronously. The processor of the host system analyzes the transitions of intro, verse, and hook segments to play the rhythm of the music melody. The host system is used to transmit the display signal to the display units in conjunction with the music to be played, to change various display lighting methods, so as to achieve the effect of displaying light with the rhythm of the music.
