MAGNETICALLY SECURED CYMBAL TRIGGER AND CHOKE ASSEMBLY
An apparatus, system, and method for a magnetically and releaseably attachable trigger for an instrument is provided along with a choking device for use of the trigger in connection with a cymbal or like percussion device. The trigger and securing device are disposed on either side of a cymbal surface or a cymbal stand via magnetic force and the choking mechanism is in electrical connection with the trigger to interrupt the signal for choking purposes and is mounted on a surface of the cymbal to be choked.
ELECTRONIC PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT AND METHOD OF DETECTING PERCUSSION POSITION
An electronic percussion instrument and a method of detecting a percussion position are provided. The percussion position in a left-right direction is calculated by comparing an added-up value of output values of a first edge sensor with an added-up value of output values of a second edge sensor. Compared with a case where peak values of the first and second edge sensors are used, it is possible to make a great difference between an added-up value in a case where the vicinity of the first edge sensor (the second edge sensor) is percussed and an added-up value in a case where a position away from the first edge sensor (the second edge sensor) is percussed.
MUSICAL SOUND GENERATING APPARATUS AND MUSICAL SOUND GENERATING METHOD
A musical sound generating apparatus capable of improving the sensitivity of pressing against a percussion surface is provided. The musical sound generating apparatus includes a percussion surface, a pressure sensor disposed on the percussion surface on a side of a back surface and configured to detect a pressure change, an elastic body compressed between the percussion surface and the pressure sensor, and a control device configured to output an instruction according to an output value of the pressure sensor, and the control device includes a pressing detection unit configured to detect pressing against the percussion surface on the basis of a difference between the output value of the pressure sensor and a reference value, and an updating unit configured to update the reference value at every updating time according to the output value of the pressure sensor.
ELECTRONIC PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT AND MUSICAL SOUND GENERATING METHOD

The electronic percussion instrument includes a housing, a percussion surface attached to the housing, a pressure sensor disposed on a central section of the percussion surface on a side of the back surface and configured to detect pressing against the central section, a head vibration sensor disposed on a peripheral section of the percussion surface on the side of the back surface and configured to detect vibrations of the peripheral section, and a rim vibration sensor disposed at a position overlapping the head vibration sensor when seen in a plan view of the percussion surface and configured to detect vibrations of the housing.
Sensor unit and musical instrument
A sensor unit is for attaching to a vibrating body. The sensor unit includes: a sheet sensor that has a sheet shape and flexibility. The sheet sensor converts vibration that acts in a thickness direction of the sheet sensor to a voltage and outputting the voltage. The sensor unit further includes a first sticking member that includes a soft base material and two adhesive layers. The soft base material has a sheet shape and stress conformability. The two adhesive layers are respectively provided on both surfaces of the soft base material. The first sticking member is attached to one surface of the sheet sensor.
FLEXIBLE AND TACTILE PRESSURE SENSITIVE SWITCH SENSORS
Described herein is a flexible piezoresistive switch sensor responding only to a minimum threshold compression deformation force. The switch sensor comprises a non-porous housing that separates an external environment from an internal environment; one or more decoupled electrodes comprising or formed of a flexible conductor; a non conductive insulating spacer layer enforcing the one or more decoupled electrodes in bending or twisting forces, while allowing electrode coupling due to compression; a piezoresistive layer decoupled from the electrodes via the insulating spacer layer; and an elastomeric polymer layer comprising one or more buckling or spring elements configured to separate a minimum required compression force on the piezoresistive layer and the non-conductive insulating layer.
