System for Identification of a Note Played by a Musical Instrument
A system and method is disclosed for identification of a musical note played by a musical wind instrument with a resonant chamber having a plurality of configurations selectable by a player of the musical wind instrument and an electrically conductive surface in the resonant chamber. The system and method include a stimulation signal generator for generating a stimulation signal and antenna means mountable on the musical instrument for broadcasting the stimulation signal as an electromagnetic signal within the resonant chamber and for receiving a reflected electromagnetic signal from the resonant chamber The system and method also include an electronic processing unit for processing the reflected electromagnetic signal and determining therefrom a configuration of the resonant chamber selected by the player and indicative of a musical note that is or would be output by the instrument when played at the time of the received reflected signal.
Interval-Based Musical Instrument
Embodiments are directed to a musical instrument having buttons, where the buttons determine the magnitude of the interval by which the melody will jump from the last note played. With a small number of interval buttons and an up/down strum bar, embodiments can play almost any melody and more notes than a piano. One embodiment is directed to an interval-based guitar including fret buttons whose input signals are used to calculate the interval by which to change the pitch of the prior note. Providing input via a strum bar or a sensor, a new note is generated by adding or subtracting the interval to/from the prior note to generate a new note.
Electronic wind instrument and key operation detection method
An electronic wind instrument and key operation detection method are provided. The electronic wind instrument includes an instrument body and a plurality of keys which have an operation surface operated by a player's finger and are provided on an external surface of the instrument body. Among the plurality of keys, at least two keys disposed to sandwich or surround a predetermined region comprise restriction parts formed on the operation surfaces. The restriction parts restrict escape of the player's finger from between the at least two keys having the restriction parts formed thereon.
ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT AND KEY OPERATION DETECTION METHOD
An electronic musical instrument includes an instrument body and a plurality of keys, each of which has an operation surface operated by a player's finger is provided on an external surface of the instrument body. Among the plurality of keys, at least two keys are disposed to be adjacent to each other, and the operation surfaces of the at least two keys are configured to be inclined to descend toward between the at least two keys when viewed from a left-right direction of the electronic musical instrument.
PRESSURE MEASUREMENT DEVICE FOR USE WITH A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
A pressure measurement device for use with a musical instrument is provided. The pressure measurement devices has at least one inlet to receive air from a player of the musical instrument as the player plays the musical instrument. The pressure measurement device also has at least one sensor associated with the at least one inlet. The sensor is configured to sense information relating to pressure from the received air in real time as the musical instrument is played.
Computation design of acoustic resonators
One embodiment of the present application sets forth a method for simulating an audio output of a three-dimensional object that includes a resonant cavity. The method includes receiving an input mesh of a three-dimensional shape and a hole configuration. The input mesh has an outer surface and an internal cavity, and the hole configuration includes one or more holes. The method further includes adding the one or more holes to the three-dimensional shape based on the hole configuration to generate a modified three-dimensional shape having a resonant cavity. The resonant cavity includes the one or more holes and the internal cavity. The method further includes determining an air pressure coefficient matrix for the resonant cavity. The method further includes computing a minimum non-zero eigenvalue for the air pressure coefficient matrix. The method further includes determining an output resonant frequency for the resonant cavity based on the minimum non-zero eigenvalue.
Electronic Wind Instrument
An electronic wind instrument includes: a breath sensor; an operating element that receives an instruct related to a pitch; a casing to which the breath sensor and the operating element are provided; a bell having a tubular shape and facing the casing; and a first separate material body that forms a fixing member fixed to the casing and attached to an outer peripheral surface of the bell.
ELECTRONIC WIND INSTRUMENT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ELECTRONIC WIND INSTRUMENT
The electronic wind instrument (1) includes an instrument body (10) in which a through-hole leading into an internal space (11) opens on an outer surface (12), an operation piece (20) attached to the instrument body (10) at a position of a through-hole (14) and pushed down toward the internal space (11), and an electronic component disposed in the internal space (11). The electronic component includes a push-down sensor (6) that detects that the operation piece (20) is being pushed down, and the outer surface (12) of the instrument body (10) comprises an outer wall (16a) that is provided around the through-hole (14) and that faces toward the through-hole (14), an inner wall (16b) that is provided nearer to the through-hole (14) than the outer wall (16a) and that faces toward the outer wall (16a), and a groove bottom (16c) connecting the outer wall (16a) and the inner wall (16b) together.
Electronic Wind Instrument
An electronic wind instrument includes a breath sensor, an operating element, a speaker, and an acoustic tube. The operating element receives an instruction related to a pitch. The speaker outputs a sound based on musical performance information obtained from at least one of the breath sensor and the operating element. The speaker has an inner space therein. The acoustic tube that has an inner space therein. The inner space of the acoustic tube is continuous with the inner space of the speaker. The acoustic tube extends in a direction away from the speaker.
