The audio converter device decompresses the digital audio data and converts the digital audio data into analog electrical data. The audio converter device transfers the analog electrical data to an audio playback device.

A media processor and method of customizing a media composition enables a user to compile a customized media file with selectable tracks and a primary track. Each of the selectable tracks includes a recording of a performer performing a part of a particular composition, such as an instrument or vocal part in a musical piece. The control circuitry generates for display the media asset. The control circuitry receives an instruction to replace a portion of the background audio component of the media asset being displayed. The control circuitry identifies an attribute for the portion of the background audio component from the metadata. The control circuitry retrieves a user preference relating to background audio. The control circuitry determines an audio asset based on the attribute and the user preference. The control circuitry retrieves the audio asset. The control circuitry modifies the media asset by replacing the portion of the background audio component with the audio asset. The control circuitry generates for display the modified media asset.
