Waveform data obtained by sampling a musical sound is acquired, and a difference between a harmonic frequency of an n.sup.th harmonic of the waveform data and a resonance sound frequency of the n.sup.th harmonic sound of a resonance sound generation circuit is calculated, and if the difference is 1 Hz or more, a waveform of a frequency component of 20 Hz centered on a central of the frequency of the n.sup.th harmonic of a frequency spectrum is clipped. The difference calculated in regard to the clipped waveform is reduced. The waveform and the clipped original waveform are combined to edit the waveform data. Thus, in the waveform data, the difference between the harmonic frequencies of the resonance characteristic is eliminated, and resonance is facilitated and occurrence of beat of the sound is prevented.

In one example, a method to match a digital amplifier model to a real guitar amplifier comprises obtaining an amplifier output filter and an amplifier input filter for the real guitar amplifier, using the amplifier output filter and a model output filter to obtain a corrective output filter, using the amplifier input filter and a model input filter to obtain a corrective input filter, and applying the corrective input filter and the corrective output filter to the digital amplifier model. The amplifier output filter and the amplifier input filter can be obtained using exponential sine sweep (ESS) and a matched filter. A system includes a circuitry that provides for psychoacoustic frequency range extension for a speaker. The circuitry generates quadrature components from an audio channel, and generates rotated spectral quadrature components by applying a forward transformation that rotates a spectrum of the quadrature components from a standard basis to a rotated basis. In the rotated basis, the circuitry isolates components of the rotated spectral quadrature components at target frequencies, and generates weighted phase-coherent harmonic spectral quadrature components by applying a scale-independent nonlinearity to the isolated components. The circuitry generates a harmonic spectral component by applying an inverse transformation that rotates a spectrum of the weighted phase-coherent harmonic spectral quadrature components from the rotated basis to the standard basis. The circuitry combines the harmonic spectral component with frequencies of the audio channel outside of the target frequencies to generate an output channel, and provides the output channel to the speaker.
