An example vehicle bench seat has a first backrest, a first speaker, a second backrest, a second speaker, a central portion, and a seat base. The first speaker is disposed within the first backrest and the second speaker is disposed within the second backrest. Each of the first and second speakers emit primary sound waves and secondary sound waves. The secondary sound waves of the first speaker are 180 degrees out of phase with the primary sound waves of the first speaker and the secondary sound waves of the second speaker are 180 degrees out of phase with the primary sound waves of the second speaker. The central portion includes channels that direct the secondary sound waves emitted by the first and second speakers into the vehicle cabin to cancel undesired primary sound waves.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR NOISE REDUCTION, AND HEADSET
The present disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for noise reduction, and a headset. The method of noise reduction includes: acquiring a first reference noise signal; acquiring an initial direction of desired speech in response to a trigger signal; acquiring a real-time direction of desired speech based on a real-time orientation of the headset and the initial direction of desired speech, the real-time orientation being obtained by orientation tracking for the headset; filtering out a desired speech signal from the first reference noise signal to acquire an undesired noise signal, the desired speech signal being extracted in the real-time direction of desired speech; and filtering the undesired noise signal to output an inverse noise signal for speaker playback. Thus, using the method of noise reduction, not only the undesired noise in the ambient noise can be cancelled, but also the desired speech signal can be retained.
WEARABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE CONTROLLING NOISE CANCELING OF EXTERNAL WEARABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME
According to certain embodiments, an electronic device comprises: at least one display module; at least one communication module; at least one microphone; at least one camera; and a processor, wherein the processor is configured to: capture at least one image through the at least one camera, identify at least one object located around the electronic device, based at least in part on the at least one image, identify sound information attributable to the identified at least one object from first sound data input through the at least one microphone, control the at least one display module to display at least one virtual object corresponding to the identified at least one object at a position corresponding to the at least one object, wherein the position is determined based on the sound information, obtain a first user input associated with a first virtual object among the at least one virtual object, and determine a noise cancellation (NC) level of a first object corresponding to the first virtual object, based on the first user input.
Self-organized acoustic signal cancellation over a network
A system for self-organized acoustic signal cancellation over a network is disclosed. The system may transmit an acoustic sounding signal to an interfering device so that a channel measurement may be performed for a channel between the interfering device and an interferee device. The system may receive the channel measurement for the channel from the interfering device and also receive a digitized version of an audio interference signal associated with the interfering device. Based on the channel measurement and the digital version of the interference signal, the system may calculate a cancellation signal prior to the arrival of the original over-the-air audio interference signal that corresponds to the digital version of audio interference signal. The system may then apply the cancellation signal to an audio signal associated with the interferee device to remove the interference signal from the audio signal.
Apparatus, method and computer program for adjustable noise cancellation
An apparatus receives a background audio signal from an earpiece microphone. The earpiece microphone is configured to convert sound from a surrounding environment into the background audio signal. The apparatus outputs, to at least one speaker, a primary audio signal with an altered version of the background audio signal. The altered version is selectable, responsive to control by a user of a user interface, between an amount of active noise cancelation of the sound and an amount of reproduction of the sound. One example embodiment is a headset with microphones and speakers for the respective inputs and outputs.
SPEECH REPRODUCTION DEVICE CONFIGURED FOR MASKING REPRODUCED SPEECH IN A MASKED SPEECH ZONE
A speech reproduction device for reproducing speech based on a received speech signal so that the reproduced speech is intelligible in a clear speech zone and unintelligible in a masked speech zone includes an audio processing module configured for receiving the speech signal; a set of speech loudspeakers configured for reproducing the speech based on one or more speech loudspeaker signals; and a set of masking sound loudspeakers configured for producing a masking sound based on one or more masking sound loudspeaker signals, wherein the masking sound masks the speech in the masked speech zone; wherein the audio processing module includes a speech signal analysis module configured for producing one or more analysis signals based on spectral and/or temporal characteristics of the speech signal; wherein the audio processing module includes a masking sound generator configured for producing one or more masking sound signals based on the one or more analysis signals.
Assistive listening device and human-computer interface using short-time target cancellation for improved speech intelligibility
An assistive listening device includes a set of microphones including an array arranged into pairs about a nominal listening axis with respective distinct intra-pair microphone spacings, and a pair of ear-worn loudspeakers. Audio circuitry performs arrayed-microphone short-time target cancellation processing including (1) applying short-time frequency transforms to convert time-domain audio input signals into frequency-domain signals for every short-time analysis frame, (2) calculating ratio masks from the frequency-domain signals of respective microphone pairs, wherein the calculation of a ratio mask includes both a frequency domain subtraction of signal values of a microphone pair and a scaling of a resulting frequency domain noise estimate by a pre-computed phase difference normalization vector, (3) calculating a global ratio mask from the plurality of ratio masks, and (4) applying the global ratio mask, and inverse short-time frequency transforms, to selected ones of the frequency-domain signals, thereby generating audio output signals for driving the loudspeakers. The circuitry and processing may also be realized in a machine hearing device executing a human-computer interface application.
Audio control for extended-reality shared space
Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for audio signal processing are presented. Some configurations include determining that first audio activity in at least one microphone signal is voice activity; determining whether the voice activity is voice activity of a participant in an application session active on a device; based at least on a result of the determining whether the voice activity is voice activity of a participant in the application session, generating an antinoise signal to cancel the first audio activity; and by a loudspeaker, producing an acoustic signal that is based on the antinoise signal. Applications relating to shared virtual spaces are described.
