A tape cartridge which is mounted in a tape printing apparatus provided with a detection part, includes a tape-shaped member which has a detection protrusion of which a lateral side partially protrudes in a tape width direction and a cartridge case in which a tape roll formed by winding the tape-shaped member into a roll shape is contained. In the tape cartridge, an exposed area is provided outside the cartridge case, the exposed area being where the detection protrusion provided in the tape-shaped member delivered from the tape roll and fed in a length direction of the tape-shaped member is exposed, the cartridge case has a cover which covers the tape-shaped member delivered from the tape roll in a tape feeding upstream side from the exposed area, and the cover includes a first cover, a second cover and a position regulating part.

A media library includes a media cartridge, a storage slot that selectively receives and retains the media cartridge, and a picker system. The storage slot includes a latch configured to securely retain the media cartridge within the storage slot. The picker system is configured to selectively retrieve the media cartridge from within the storage slot. The picker system includes a first picker finger, an opposed second picker finger, and a latch deactivator configured to selectively move the latch from an activated position in which the latch inhibits the media cartridge from being removed from the storage slot, to a deactivated position in which the latch does not inhibit the media cartridge from being removed from the storage slot. The latch deactivator is coupled to the first picker finger such that movement of the first picker finger results in corresponding movement of the latch deactivator.

In one general embodiment, an apparatus includes a guidance system configured for coupling to a frame of an automated data storage library, the guidance system including a guide member coupled to a rail and configured to move along the rail in a first direction. A robot is detachably coupled to the guidance system and physically configured to be moved out of the automated data storage library in a direction about perpendicular to a plane of intended movement directions of the robot. The guidance system is configured such that the guide member remains engaged with the rail upon detachment of the robot therefrom.
