DIGITAL MEDIA APPARATUS
A digital media apparatus that includes a player and media storage member wherein the apparatus facilitates controlled transmission of digital audio data stored on the media storage member. The player of the present invention includes a receiving area configured to releasably receive and retain a media storage member. The media storage member is operably coupled to the player utilizing a plurality of electrical contacts. The housing of the media storage member has a recess in the upper surface thereof that is configured to receive a graphic art member. The graphic art member is backlit by an illumination element disposed in the housing of the media storage member. A first set of control switches and second set of control switches are located in the media storage member and receiving area respectively and place in an operational mode the apparatus to permit playing of the audio files.
Card reader
A card reader is provided which is capable of detecting a skimming magnetic head attached to a front side of a card insertion member formed with a card insertion port and a skimming magnetic head attached to an inclined face of the card insertion port with a simple structure. The card reader includes a card insertion member 8 formed with a card insertion port 3 and a light emitting element 9 and a light receiving element for detecting that a foreign matter has been attached to the card insertion member 8. A lower face of the card insertion port 3 is formed to be an inclined face 3a which is inclined toward a lower side as going to the front side.
Card reader and foreign matter detection method thereof
A card reader for use with a card having a magnetic stripe may include a card insertion port; a card passage through which the card inserted from the card insertion port passes, the card passage being connected to the card insertion port; a magnetic head configured to perform at least one of: recording magnetic data to the magnetic stripe of the card and reading magnetic data from the magnetic stripe of the card; a capacitive sensor provided in contact with the card passage; and a movable structure structured such that a distance to the capacitive sensor is variable. The capacitive sensor may include a plurality of regions, each of the plurality of regions being structured to detect a capacitance, and a switch circuit configured to electrically connect and disconnect each region of the plurality of regions.
Memory card reading method which adjusts reader to host interface
A memory card reading method applied to an electronic device, includes: detecting a specification information of a memory card, wherein the specification information includes a transfer speed of the memory; and controlling according to the specification information a reader to host interface to operate in a first operating mode or a second operating mode for reading the memory card, wherein the first operating mode and the second operating mode correspond to different data transfer speeds.
MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM PROCESSING DEVICE
Provided is a magnetic recording medium processing device including a loading slot into which a magnetic recording medium, a medium movement path extending from the loading slot, a first magnetic head arranged in the medium movement path and detecting a magnetic signal from the magnetic recording medium, a magnetic information reproducer reproducing the magnetic information, based on a signal of a specific frequency included in analog signals output from the first magnetic head, an interfering magnetic field generator generating an interfering magnetic field along the medium movement path, and an interfering magnetic field controller controlling the interfering magnetic field generator to generate a first interfering magnetic field until the first magnetic head starts detecting the magnetic signal, and controlling the interfering magnetic field generator to generate a second interfering magnetic field different in frequency spectrum from the first interfering magnetic field while the first magnetic head detects the magnetic signal.
CARD READER AND FOREIGN MATTER DETECTION METHOD THEREOF
A capacitive sensor is divided into a plurality of regions each of which is capable of detecting a capacitance, and a switch circuit is provided which is configured to electrically connect and disconnect each region. At least one of the plurality of regions, for example, is arranged in a position less susceptible to an influence of a movable structure within the card reader, and at least one of the remaining regions is arranged in a position susceptible to the influence of the movable structure.
