A disc device of the present disclosure includes a plurality of magazine units aligned in height direction of the disc device. Each of the magazine units includes a plurality of magazine holders each storing at least one magazine, a rail that is slidable in depth direction of the disc device along a side of a housing of the disc device and has higher stiffness than the magazine holders, and a box-shaped handle mounted to a front end of the rail to extend in width direction of the disc device. The plurality of magazine holders is arranged in depth direction of the disc device. The rail holds the plurality of magazine holders at one side of the magazine holder. The handle extends from the front end of the rail toward a free-end side of the magazine holders and includes a recessed engagement portion that admits a finger in depth direction of the disc device and enables the finger to engage when each of the magazine units is pulled out in depth direction of the disc device.

Inter-library exchange of a removable medium

A port is used for exchanging removable media with a media library. The port includes a port housing with an opening exchanging the media between an internal volume and another opening permitting an exchange of the media between the internal volume and the media library. The port also includes a guiding funnel for guiding the media from the environment to the opening, an elastic element and a plate for receiving the medium. The elastic element and the plate are installed in the internal volume, and the plate is coupled to the elastic element. The elastic element is configured for pressing the plate against the opening to seal the port when the plate is unloaded and for permitting a movement of the plate into the internal volume to allow the exchange of the medium through the other opening when the plate is loaded.

Disc archive apparatus

Provided is a disc archive apparatus, including: a tray conveying robot that selects a specified disc tray and conveys the specified disc tray; a rotatable turn table, the disc tray conveyed by the tray conveying robot being placed on the rotatable turn table; a disc conveying picker for placing the discs from the disc tray placed on the turn table into the plurality of drives of the disc drive; and a controller that controls an operation, in which the controller performs a control operation including performing processing including recording or reproduction on/from the disc taken out from a disc tray currently placed on a first area of the turn table, rotating the turn table thereafter, and performing processing including recording or reproduction on/from a next disc tray placed on a second area of the turn table.

Disk magazine

A disk magazine according to the present disclosure is a disk magazine equipped with a resin-made disk tray that houses a plurality of disks in a stacked state and a tray holder that houses the disk tray. An opening is provided on one side surface of the tray holder so that the disk tray can be inserted into and extracted from the opening. A sliding member is mounted to a front wall of the disk tray so as to protrude more upward than a top surface of the disk tray. The front wall serves as a side where the disk tray is inserted into the opening. The sliding member is constituted of a resin material different from a resin material that constitutes the disk tray.
