Object identification and device communication through image and audio signals
Deterministic identifiers fuel reliable efficient capture of product discovery, purchase and consumption events, which in turn enable more reliable product recommendation, more accurate shopping list generation and in-store navigation. A mobile device, equipped with image and audio detectors, extracts product identifiers from objects, display screens and ambient audio. In conjunction with a cloud-based service, a mobile device application obtains product information and logs product events for extracted identifiers. The cloud service generates recommendations, and mapping for in-store navigation. The detectors also provide reliable and efficient product identification for purchase events, and post shopping product consumption events.
Enhanced content tracking system and method
The invention, as shown by the system in FIG. 2, relates to a client-side content tracking system of media files, e.g. digital music files. Audio trackingor indeed multimedia trackingis shifted to a client-side perspective, with the client tasked with establishing use of a selected source audio track by trackingand then reporting uplink to the serverat least one of: entry and exit points associated with playing of at least one of said musical sections in the identified source audio track, and how the identified source audio track was used, performed or manipulated at the client device. Server functionality is designed, having regard to the reported tracking data and its link to a unique identifier to permit the media file (e.g. source audio track) to be selected and/or identified, to store or relaypossibly in the context of a subscription service and billing regime for content usetracking data related to use of at least a portion of the source audio track at or by the client device. In the context of audio, reporting of use at a client device can, in turn, cause streaming of related multi-media content from a third-party database to the client device. For music, reporting of entry and end points into and out of sections of complete audio tracks can coincide with musically seamless audio transitions between sections.
User positioning method, information push method, and related apparatus
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for locating a client terminal are provided. One of the methods includes: obtaining, by an audio signal playing terminal, identification information of an object associated with the audio signal playing terminal; watermarking, by the audio signal playing terminal, a to-be-played audio signal based on the identification information to obtain an audio signal having a watermark; and playing, by the audio signal playing terminal, the audio signal having the watermark for a client terminal to collect the audio signal having the watermark and send the audio signal having the watermark or the identification information to a server to enable the server to obtain the identification information and determine a position of the object based on a correspondence between the identification information and the position of the object and thereby to determine a position of the client terminal.
System and methods for permitting open access to data objects and for securing data within the data objects
A system and methods for permitting open access to data objects and for securing data within the data objects is disclosed. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for securing a data object is disclosed. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for securing a data object is disclosed. The method includes the steps of (1) providing a data object comprising digital data and file format information; (2) embedding independent data into a data object; and (3) scrambling the data object to degrade the data object to a predetermined signal quality level. The steps of embedding and scrambling may be performed until a predetermined condition is met. The method may also include the steps of descrambling the data object to upgrade the data object to a predetermined signal quality level, and decoding the embedded independent data.
TIME-ALIGNED ADDITIVE RECORDING
The present teachings generally include time-aligned additive recordings, e.g., for remote music production, dialog post-production, and the like. In this manner, the present teachings can provide a substantially real-time, collaborative experience between two or more remote userse.g., producer and collaborator(s). Specifically, through the use of audio watermarks (as discrete signals or embedded within data corresponding to first audio content such as recorded music or film/video audio) that can be sent to a collaborator, replicated in a time-aligned manner, and returned (as discreet signals or embedded within data corresponding to second audio content such as musical or dialog content), an additive multitrack audio recording can be created with precise time-alignment maintained during monitoring of the recording itself and in the resulting second audio, thus effectively emulating an in-person audio production session. The present teachings can also enable the development of supplemental services such as collaborator networks and/or marketplaces.
Audio-based internet search methods and sub-combinations
A portable device uses a microphone to listen to ambient audio, ascertains a corresponding identifier, and uses the identifier to enable one or more further functions. One of these can be internet search. Such functionality can also be based on digital datawithout requiring a microphone-equipped device.
