A record player capable of playing phonographic records that may be played in a scratch style by a user. The record player includes a tonearm that is rotatably supported at or near an end of the tonearm by a structure having both horizontally and vertically fastening points to the tonearm. The fastening points are configured to receive a user activated tension adjustment element. A user may advance or retreat the tension adjustment element to selectably control the positioning, or relative tension in the tonearm such that any record skipping due to undesirable tonearm pressure is controlled, or to achieve a specific sound.

A lifter mechanism includes: a first lifter; a second lifter; a first biasing member that biases the second lifter from a second lower limit position toward a second upper limit position; a locking lever that is displaced between a locked position in which the locking lever locks the second lifter in the second lower limit position and a released position in which the locking lever releases the lock of the second lifter from the second lower limit position; a second biasing member that biases the locking lever from the locked position toward the released position; a holding member that holds the locking lever in the locked position; and a queueing lever that pushes down the second lifter from the second upper limit position to the second lower limit position.

AUTOMATIC TONEARM LIFTER

An automatic tonearm lifter for use in a turntable that includes a main body and a tonearm rotatably mounted on the main body. The tonearm lifter includes a casing adapted to be fixedly mounted to the main body of the turntable, a lifting unit adapted to be mounted to the main body, adapted for supporting the tonearm, movable relative to the casing along a vertical axis, and non-rotatable about the axis relative to the casing, and a rotating unit including a threaded seat that is rotatable about the axis and that is threadably engaging the lifting unit, and a driving module that is connected to the threaded seat and that is operable to drive rotation thereof, thereby moving the lifting unit along the axis.

Tonearm unit and playback device

A tonearm unit includes: an arm member having a tip to which a cartridge is attached; and a raising and lowering mechanism which raises and lowers the arm member with respect to a phonograph record along an axis. The raising and lowering mechanism includes: a cam base supporting the arm member; a ring cam provided to be rotatable about the axis with respect to the cam base; a first guide portion on the cam base, extending at an angle along a rotation direction of the ring cam; and a second guide portion on the ring cam, extending at an angle along the rotation direction so as to face the first guide portion. When the ring cam rotates with respect to the cam base, the cam base is raised and lowered with respect to the ring cam as a result of the second guide portion sliding along the first guide portion.

Tone arm holder

The tone arm holder includes a saddle with a hook portion that defines an open end. A resilient dividing member is located on the top surface of the saddle. The space between the resilient dividing member and the hook define a lock seat configured and arranged for frictional engagement, receipt and storage of a tone arm therein. The opposing side of the saddle from the resilient member defines a performance seat configured and arranged for freely supporting a tone arm whereby a tone arm may be placed on and removed from the performance seat without frictional engagement of the tone arm to the holder. The tone arm is freely movable between the performance seat at a first position and the lock seat at a second position by traversing across the resilient dividing member by exceeding the resilient force of the resilient dividing member.
