Provided an instrument that is capable of improving speaker mounting workability
An instrument is provided with: a body; a speaker having a plurality of flanges that bulge outward from the body; a case that has a recess for housing the speaker. The recess has a side wall, an installation surface on which the speaker is installed, and a plurality of fixing parts that fix the flanges in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the installation surface and that bulge inward from the side wall. The speaker can rotate about the rotational axis in the orthogonal direction up to a fixing position where the flanges and the fixing parts overlap each other in the orthogonal direction after the speaker has been disposed in an unfixing position where the flanges and the fixing parts do not overlap each other in the orthogonal direction.

SELECTIVELY ILLUMINATED AREA OF AN INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGE
Two separate and differently-colored light sources provide correspondingly-colored light into corresponding light guides that extend part way around the perimeter of a gauge, such as a tachometer dial and adjacent to numerals or digits that correspond to a measured quantity, such as a too-high engine speed range and an energy-saving or eco speed range.

Indicating-needle type meter device
In an indicating-needle type meter device, when starting excitation of a stepping motor, a controller sets the phase of an excitation signal to a predetermined excitation start position and returns the phase of the excitation signal by a predetermined reversal angle such that an indicating-needle rotates in the backward direction, thereby positioning the indicating-needle at a stopper position. Subsequently, the controller advances the phase of the excitation signal by an origin return angle to rotate the indicating-needle in the forward direction to an origin position apart from the stopper position by a predetermined angle, thereby positioning the indicating-needle at the origin position. Here, the origin return angle is an angle obtained by adding a backlash angle, a predetermined positive pre-offset angle, and a positive placing error correction angle set based on a placing error of the indicating-needle with respect to the stopper.
Meter display device for vehicle
The invention provides a meter display device for a vehicle having improved visibility of indicated contents. A meter display device includes a pointer having a pointer position changed by shifting in a predetermined array direction in accordance with a continuously changing vehicle state to indicate the vehicle state, a dial having a plurality of numeral indicating portions configured to indicate the vehicle state at different levels, aligned at intervals in the array direction, and individually change lighting modes, and a controller configured to change the lighting modes of the plurality of numeral indicating portions in accordance with the vehicle state.
